Fixing EQ2 PVP

Oh wait, they're not implementing it at all!

Fucking morons.

Didnt they say that when EQ first came out? Either way it doesnt matter since nobody plays pvp on EQ.It's also a smart business move for them since they wont have to pay to have servers up for the 1% of the playerbase that wants to greif each other and act like retards (hello solro).

Good. Buy a game that focuses ON PVP if that's why you want the game. It's stupid when games that strive and are meant for PVE worry about balance issues regarding PVP when it's a VERY small portion of the game and it's 'purpose'.

Funny how EQ1 can basically rewrite the entire PvP system and expand upon it to improve it, but EQ2 (with its bigger budget and dev team) just ignores the whole concept.

They have EQ1 constantly reminding them how much of a pain in the ass it is to balance PVP in a PVE oriented game. So much troubles for so few people.

To have them completely ignore PVP for EQ2 is no surprise.

Notice there's no bard either in EQ2.

Bards and PVP, two things they openly said they regret to have put in the game, and they wont have to worry about them with EQ2.

I wouldnt label someone learning from its mistakes a "fucking moron".

Um, according to the class tree, there are bards, in fact several different kinds of them.

I wonder if there'll be bards that adhere to different styles of music.

Like, goth bards.

Ugh.

Well, I'm planning to: it's called WoW. Before this announcement I was going to give EQ2 a try as well.

My bad, there's indeed bards in EQ2 : http://everquest2.station.sony.com/#archetypesScout

Guess i was giving them too much credit. To get rid of PVP is a step in the right direction tho.

good. fuck PVP. No more fucking up PVE by trying to balance it with PVP. They shouldnt even bother trying to implement it later on. Just dont even waste the time on it.

WoW needs PVP since it's a major part of their "end game" content. What are you going to do when you max out? Stroke a load to your stats? Hopefully EQ2 will be able to make enough content like Velious to keep people playing PVE long after they've maxed out. That's what im after. I've already been through this shit with AC2 where they disguised PVP as end game content because they were unable (time, manpower) to provide real end game content that matters to MMORPG players, which is PVE.

Any game that substitutes PVE with PVP is just being lazy. It's like telling people to "go play amongst yourselves" while paying for content that isn’t there.

Lol, because Wow is really balanced and focused PVP at present.
