EQ to launch 30 Sep and beta not even realy started

I've just received an email that said EQ will launch on the 30 of September (2 months from now) and as far as I know the beta has not even officialy started. Considering WoW has been in beta for over 4 months, wouldn't it be interesting if EQ 2 launches first. What if WoW is delayed until next year, lets say 6 months after EQ 2 is already out. How will that affect their player base. And what if EQ 2 is not as bad as people make it out to be?

Personaly, I'm still waiting for WoW, but I'm open minded enough to give EQ 2 a go and see what the fuss is all about.

What are your thoughs?

bet it was some gaming company,
there is as of yet no release date on eq2

all the gaming sites i have jsut checked (only 4 fast) have it coming out in november...

If it is, as suggested, based on a preorder offer or something from Gamespot or what have you, then you should really pay more attention to how accurate those dates have proven to be historically with MMO releases.

If it is really going to be released this soon, it will at least be good for a few laughs and might even have some surprising fun factor to the gameplay, even if only for a little while.

It is a possibility, though remote. From what i've heard from insiders is that EQ2 is in awesome shape currently and they are expecting to release in Fall and not Winter.

Beta has not started? WRONG. It has been going on for a while now with real testers and a select few uber guild players from EQ set out to try and zerg through the content amongst other things. Just because EQ2 has not gone through beta yet with 100,000 Bnet morons, does not mean Beta is not going on and is not successful. As far as i've heard, beta is going amazingly well and the game is surprising even the people that are working on it as in how good a shape it is. Take that for what you will. There is a strict NDA in place so obviously you don’t here as much about it as you do WoW.
