who said the EQ2 combat animations suck? New pics on eqii.com I just saw these new screens at http://eqii.com/ and was very impressed. Check out all 6. You can see bone chips flying off the skeleton upon impact. It looks amazing IMO. Moorgard said that the only time that you dont really impact as well as you should is large Dragon encounters or huge Giants because of their large size. Like in the movie that everyone has seen. I realize a lot of people on here complained about it, but it looks like its an isolated case. Normal mobs are more like this. This is a pic of a Erudite fighting a Skeleton. I think it looks great! You can see the large versions on the website. ![]() ![]()

Animations Except in all the videos I've seen, the animations repeat. Its the exact same animation over and over again. Look at that pic series, of the 6 pictures in that attack sequence, 3 of them are the exact same position, from different angles. In a next generation animation, I want to see a dozen of various attack animations, and I want the transition from one to the next to be fluid. Not a character repeating an animation over and over. Also take a look at his shoulder in those 3 shots I mentioned. Its detatched from the socket and is kind of floating out by his chin.

Special attacks probably will have different animation. Those are most likely auto attack animations. Anyways, you can see that in once instance the Erudite is swinging down, and in another it's slashing. Umm, that's different isnt it? It probably would look a lot smoother if it was a video. It just impressed me when i say the pics because they looked better than any other MMORPGs combat animations. The bonechips flying are cool.

he looks like he's fencing like a french faggoat ![]() Real fighters don't fence, they HEW! Or take forever to fight just to see who can make the most badass pose, anime style.

+20 Internets | I doubt we'll ever see a game that actually looks and sounds (meaning what's expected of the game itself according to the dev) this good get flamed so much, ever again. Don't you guys have anything better to do than to rip eqII at every available opportunity? |

Thing i didnt like about the animations was that they were the same for all races. Look at the video of the group fighting the orcs on the bridge, the Barbarian male and DE Female have exactly the same skeletal combat animations for the last 3 attacks. Sounds like lazy animation to me. Id have hoped the elfish characters had more nimble animations while the larger races were more loping and clumsy looking.
