| I'm not quite sure why Square-Enix would get involved with EQ2. They already have Final Fantasy. Shit, they could make a Dragon Warrior MMO, too. I think in Japan that has a HUGE following, even dwarfing FF's name... |

+10 Internets | I bet $1 that SOE would go bankrupt if they attempted to do a post-apocalyptic cgi long feature for theatre called EverQuest: The Spirits Without. EDIT: To add something more interesting (possibly). Doesn't Square-Enix distribute EA games in Japan? And when you think of it, the odd people are Sony Computer Entertainement Inc... you would think they would be the one publishing a SOE title in Japan... but after all, it's Capcom that released The Getaway in Japan too (SCE Europe game) so I guess SCEI policy is a bit odd... well for The Getaway it was because of the violence they did not take it... for EQ2... it might be the lack of know-how in the server management side of things? Odd odd...

+14 Internets | Japan tends to like english voice acting, so they wont change the EQ2 voices I'm %99 sure. They'll just translate the written dialogue.

| Yes douchebag, but not this company, and this isn't just a localizaion. HIRING a company to do a localization is not nearly the same thing as PARTNERING with a company to let them publish a game. Now it's not interesting that SOE is having an outside company publish one of their games overseas, they've done this frequently. The interesting part is that Square-Enix is not only publishing a game they didn't make, which is a rare occurance inandof itself, but is publishing a game developed in America that they had no part of, which is, well, a first as far as I know. Name the last external American developed video game Square, Enix, or Square-Enix published in Japan. Go ahead, do it. You'll have to go back fuckin far if you find one at all.
