+1 Internets | EQ2 retexturings I know most of you don't give a shit, but for those of you with open minds: http://eq2players.station.sony.com/ They've released new examples of retextured models for Dark Elves, Half Elves and Humans. They're not perfect, but they're definitely a step forward. Not very shiny any more. I do love the look of the human female, though. Excellent job on that one. |

| I'm not a huge fan of some of the armor pieces, and I definitely don't like a lot of the hair, but otherwise they look pretty decent. Definitely better than before. Have to see it in motion to get a better idea though. |

| This case is hopeless. SoE is lacking skilled artists I am afraid. Whenever they released the Luclin models it got worse. Obviously they are trying to follow up on the mistake by insisting on it. Still, I am sure that 99% of the playerbase will agree on the fact that the original models looked best. Now you cannot use the exact same models on EQ 2 because they look technically outdated, but one could simply create high quality versions of these. When will SoE ever realize that nobody wants to drink their new formular Coke? People want EQ classic!

+1 Internets | As long as the eyes and hairstyle are customizable, I rather like the style shown in the new models. Oh wait, god forbid that EQ2 have a different style of modeling than WoW.. Only WoW can get away with having a unique(cartoony in this case) style. |

| It could be just me, but... Aren't their bodies completely out of whack? The shapes and sizes/lengths of their heads/arms/torso/legs just don't see natural. It's as if they took body parts from differently sized people and glued them together. |

| SOE theory on models is to overkill the poly count on purpose, so that no system will be able to run it with max settings upon release. In theory the idea they have about making the technology in the game last for years to come is great, but whoever is in charge of putting this into effect is mistaking high poly count for cutting edge graphics. SOE won't change anything though, because they think peoples major concern is the high poly count bogging down their current systems, when in fact people just want models that look good. Hell you could halve the poly count on eq2's models, put a decent skin job on them, and have an awesome game for years to come. |

| /shrug They look fine to me. As long as they don't move around like the half retarded Luclin models, I'd be happy if they looked that that for release. Honestly, it's a fucking video game, they don't need to look real. And just to stir the pot... EQ2 models > WoW models. ![]() |
