Remember the 6-boxing Neurosurgeon...

He is gonna be doing all my brain surgery.

AP Article
NEW YORK - All those years on the couch playing Nintendo (news - web sites) and PlayStation appear to be paying off for surgeons. Researchers found that doctors who spent at least three hours a week playing video games made about 37 percent fewer mistakes in laparoscopic surgery and performed the task 27 percent faster than their counterparts who did not play video games.

haha that was hilarious.

Sam is the dumb ass with a hospitol bed setup and a custom, and I emphasize custom, arm rest which allows him to not move his arm for 6 hours and feel NO pain.

The 6 boxing Neurosurgeon was just like a guy w/ 6 comps, 6 LCDs, and an LCD tv behind it and everyone said it would cost too much to own and someone Neurosurgeon said it was his because he doesnt wanna waste time finding a group.

Definitely one of the best quotes I've seen on here in a long time. Kudos!

I've seen far better quotes.

Somehow I don't see EQ as helping hand - eye co-ordination.

A bit off topic but seeing how he's once again being flamed in the ass, does anyone have a link to the picture of Sam's one of a kind-lazy-ass computer set up thing?

Sam looks a lot like Mario from Super Mario Bros.

Sam's computer/bed contraption is one of the most dangerous looking devices I've ever seen. It's really quite amazing that he hasn't died in an accident yet.

I know exactly squat about Sam, and from the sound of it, I don't want to know anything about Sam.

Video game playing is actually valued by a handful of professions. Games like EQ don't do much for ya, but the old school scrolling games like Sonic, Mario, etc over develop hand-eye coordination, and those good at them have developed reflexes the Air Force has been quoted as calling "super human".

Combat pilots are highly encouraged to play video games, and although they are not encouraged to, most NASCAR drivers also play games.

Of course, the applications for the highly developed coordination and reflex are limitted to those things which involve similar processes; IE using an electronic directional control for real world objects.

In contrast, Blackhawk pilots (according to one warrant officer I spoke with) are highly encouraged NOT TO play video games. The reason is that blackhawks are not controlled via one tool, or even a directional tool plus switches. A blackhawk has a seperate control for pitch, yaw, rotation, altitude, forward momentum, and each weapon onboard.

I went to the firing range a couple weeks ago, and was suprised how accurate I was at shooting.

All those hours of Ravenshield probably paid off...

Probably the best skill you get from playing video games is that you learn to just say "uh huh" when people are talking to you, and you're playing video games. That helps a fuckton when your significant other is blabbing about her day.
