| Just out of curiousity. Flame away if this has been asked prior, or if it's an inappropriate post, but I was curious if Fires of Heaven, as a whole, plan to dominate the WoW scene much like you have with Everquest? If so, will you be doing any open recruitment?

+14 Internets | I'm not going to reply to this as if I have some inside track with FoH and know more than any other regular here knows, but I'll give you my impressions. First, most of the officers and the regular members who post seem to be down with it. Obviously Furor is down -- down like a clown. Dizzown. All over town. Yo. I kinda feel bad for Furor and Tigole, because each one of them is involved, to a different extent, in creating the game they wanted to experience through EQ that was often spoiled by bad decision making and a shitty corporate environment. Tigole has it much worse off than Furor, because at least Furor isn't actually creating it, he's testing. For Tig, I'd be surprised if he will be able to get much at all (except for some fun) out of the level of play he's accustomed too, because he designed and helped design so much of it and there's no mystery for him. For Furor, testing things before the masses has got to suck in a way because it doesn't allow for any bragging rights from being the first to take it down. However, this is what each one of them has been saying needs to be done -- have people who play the fucking game heavily consulted and testing before you roll it out and find out how fucked up it is from your paying Beta testers. OTOH, there's nothing like the feeling of satisfaction you get from the creative process when the end result is really, really good. But I digress. Since I'm not a mind reader, the only way for us to know how Tig and Furor feel about it is for them to state it themselves. All that blabbering aside, I really doubt they're going to need to recruit for some time based on the targeted raid size in WoW. As far as the entire guild moving, that's really up to the individuals, eh? And domination? Well, I think that comes naturally. Hopefully Tig is able to mount enough internal testing of Uber content that they can save some Uber suprises for Furor and Co. |

+44 Internets | EQ has spawned an ocean of powergamers who will all feel right at home in WoW - there isn't near as much of a learning process as there was in EQ. And it remains to be seen exactly what "dominating" WoW entails. |

+2 Internets | I would assume dominating means largely the same as in EQ or DAoC: killing uber mobs before anyone else, posting money shots before anyone else, and generally invoking fear and hatred with death spam in the PVP battlegrounds. |

I know that it's too early to tell what direction any guild will go with the birth of WoW, I guess you could say this is early research on my part. ![]()
