We're making changes to all the cities to make navigation a little easier. There will also be city maps as part of your world mapping system. Also, expect NPC's to get a lot smarter in the near future. They just might help you out if you get lost =]
This looks fairly interesting, as well.

Well they went the way of the super "fixed" damage bonus, this system scream to be broken in every game it's implemented.

It's even worse then in eq where only level and haste will fuck the equation. In WoW there is a panoply of spell effect, shout, stat bonus, aura, etc that all stack fixed bonus. I really hope the next "major" updrade mean they are converting the system to a more proportional system or something or I don't see how it can be preventing from breaking the 1-h versus 2-h balance again in a different setting.

Yeah, who cares about melee, cloaks for the big W.

What's surprising is how 'last minute' they're putting cloaks in, after avowing not to have cloaks. The cloaks in games I've seen have propriety engine programming in that the physics for them is unique outside of everything else.

I suppose it does show how dynamic Blizzard's system is and how willing they are to change it.

The changes to feedback/suggested stuff in the next patch will determine a lot about how well Blizzard will handle different errors/imbalances in the game in the years to come. As far as I know the duping bug in diablo is still in the most latest patched version.

I wish some game would create a system where you didnt have to equip every possible piece of equipment then optimize them. Its kind of dumb.

It would be nice if a character didn't want to use a cloak or say a belt to be able to not be penalized by this.

I never liked linking magic effects to armor anyway. Armor should be pure damage avoidence and reduction. Weapons should be pure damage weight and delay.

Moving magical effects to misc items that might fit in slots or even bags and were not additive would seem to have more flexibility and reduce mudflation. Get as many + str items as you want only 1 will count.

Why should every character be forced to have a cloak and earings . Hell if they added a purse slot every male character would wear that also! Its dumb.

^^ Durrrrrrr?

Because then if its just for AC, then you'd still be wearing earrings for the extra AC .. If you invalidate equipment, then there isn't a point to wearing any at all! Just go naked and watch your stats magically increase as you level.

Sounds like you want to play the sims, and not an RPG.

If 2h was so fast why not just use it in one hand ? Normaly because they weight 2 times as much as a normal sword. That guy complaining and saying it should be faster than a 1h is bullshit to me. Yes they should be faster but not faster then a 1h.

I think he means it shoul deal damage faster than a 1hander, not hit faster, because of the bonusses you get from shields.

No game seems to balance 1h vs 2h very well. In EQ, at least for knights they over did the desirability of 2h.

In DaoC, its the opposite, having a shield is so much better, at least for PvE, that you almost have to spec/go that way.

It would be nice if a game made it truly a context sensitive decision.

I agree with balith. How the fuck is a shiny new breastplate supposed to make my char stonger or quicker anyway? Magic?......yeah whatever. My shiny new bp should make it harder to kill me than if my char was wearing a t-shirt or something but thats about it.

Unless it's a T-Shirt with the big "W" on it, then you're invulnerable!
