5+ More Months of Beta

Everyone knew deep down inside it would be 5+ months, but they liked to pretend that it would be quicker, but now its official.

Just as well. Maybe I'll go outdoors this summer instead.

conservative figure would be 7 months. But i wouldent be surprised if they had beta go on for nearly a year. There is so much more content to impliment such as the next 30 levels. Damage, aggro, fine tunning the current classes, THEN hunters and druids then fine tunning them. Lets not forget the PvP aspect.
Offcourse it all needs to come together after ...

i get tired of thinking about it, poor blizz devs and programmers they have so much on their plate, including having to answer the bnetters.

If you thought it would be right around the corner with two classes still untested, then I have a bridge I'd like to sell. Frankly I'd be disapointed if release were sooner than that. I want the release just as much as everyone else, but I want Blizz to continue their past excellence and thoroughly test too. Especially for a game of this scope and potential.

You know, there is so much time to go still, you could start a character and even without major pl, get them high enough to have a whole eq career between now and then.

=(

With all the buzz, I had lulled myself into thinking it was closer. I am goign to have to maybe re-evaluate my EQ goals if any while I wait.

However, I like a lot of people consider WoW to be a mortal lock for my next MMORPG, and if they are on the ball, the longer the testing runs the better the product.

Cap is/was 30

Haven't seen any content/npc hinting at 30+

Night Elves quests are buggered and nearly impossible, and too far and between

Helms don't drop even in the teens (maybe later?)

5 months is a fair estimate, I'd say a bit longer myself, but after SWGs "beta" who knows.

5+ months is a vaguely depressing number, I was really hoping to play this over the summer, instead we're looking at it coming out right when schools starting up again =[

I think its awesome. The more time they take, the better the game; or at least that is how it should be *coughSWGcough*. Blizzard continuously puts out quality games that are extrememly enjoyable, and, like was posted previously, with a game of this potential they should take extra time to make sure it comes out as good as we all hope it will be.

It is kind of depressing in a way that live users will be so far behind. I've never been a hardcore player, but I hope there isn't a "noob" mentality from those that have been previously playing since alpha.

Hmmm, maybe I'll keep my EQ account a bit longer then. That, and I'm horrible addicted to Return to Castle Wolfenstein multiplayer

Actually that's been the norm for recent MMORPG releases. Thankfully it looks like Blizzard isn't making the same mistake.

You are right. I just don't see blizzard making the same financial suicide mistakes that other companies do by releasing untested crap. their track record sells itself.

I'd like to hope the game has a long time to go still considering 2 classes aren't playable yet and the level cap is only 30 right now. I'm sure there will be at least a month of open beta anyways.

dont be surprised if its released after new years. We are talking about Blizzard and they have a lot invested both in terms of reputation, and financially with this game. They will delay the release, if a tareuns ass cheek is mis proportioned. So i think we should just look at a 2005 release. in the mean time CoH is comming out and i guess it will suffice, for us non-beta testers.

On a seperate note i heard a rumor well actually it was posted on worldofwar.net, that another batch of beta mail has been sent. Can anyone confirm this? i couldent find anything on blizzards site.

I did not get an email, so that rumor must be false!

Doubt it, Blizzard likes to announce that sort of thing.
