Anything constructive going on in the Beta forums?!?!?

OMG people are stripping and dancing in the middle of town -- Samu, you naughty, naughty Gnome...

OMG, stop saying Mobs, it's CREEPS -- Someone pointed out that creeps makes sense for an RTS, but this is an MMO. Thank god there are less retards in these forums....

OMG, we have to walk places, please give us a lvl 1 mount -- no, I am not exaggerating.

I can't share my Beta account?!? -- No, FFS.

The game is harder now, OMG unacceptable death penalty, OMG takes time to find a group -- Jesus, Blizzard, give me these people's accounts, they suck. BTW, complaining that you are playing less with each push because it is less fun fucking INVALIDATES your quality as a tester. Do you want to test the fucking game or play it? No shit, starting from scratch over and over again is not so fun.

This game is all about killing stuff and leveling up. I didn't like EQ and was antisocial in UO. hi, I'm level 6 (and rising!) and I also find the quests boring -- .............STFU.

That's all out of the first page of General. Yes, I've been to the suggestion page, and most of it is crap. So, is there anything good going on in the forums, or do all the people in the know just send a /suggest?

BTW, I cannot fucking believe how much whining there is about the death penalty. For people who thought the WoW penalty is too light currently, apparently popping back on your corpse can send you on some deathloops, leaving you with the option of doing it repeatedly until you get out, or using the spirit healer. Is it just me or is that a good thing? I mean, don't fucking go where you can't handle the heat so badly. Isn't that the kind of respect for the world we want? Doesn't it make sense to occasionally have a situation occur where you are forced to either timesink from deathloop or pay the EXP penalty because you got your ass waxed in the wrong part of the salon? Can Blizzard make this penalty any easier without it being absolutely trivial? FFS. BTW, I do like the idea of allowing corpse dragging for repop assists, but I'm not sure how it is any easier for someone to drag your corpse than for you to just repop and go. When you come back, are you in health or not?

Noobcake is by far one of the biggest fucking retards in battle.net's history (and that is saying a LOT).

Gotta feel sorry for blizzard. With the insane amount of retards that company has to deal with, selecting quality testers is prolly really tough. I really hope a lot of those ideas are falling on deaf ears =P

Maybe when the tester pool grows some more constructive things will be said. Until then, I /sigh heh.

Noobcake?
Imbetathanyou?
Jesus, could these people have gayer forum names...well, they could be SamdaMan.

Actually, for the first time in years I've begun to mix in the word thug along with mob. Creep is just too retarded a word to use though. I think Furor isn't fucking around sometimes when he says this is some of the better MMO chatter though...good GOD. Not to do anything NDA-breaking, but CoH beta boards have some absolute NOOBS making suggestions on how to improve the game...some ideas of immersive gameplay blows my mind when they've already been prove failures with other games.

Lol, I love this quote: "
Along came EverQuest. Our history with EverQuest is a complex one. My friends and I started playing the original EQ. Yes, original -- before Luclin, before Velious, even before Kunark. After a grueling month of leveling, we finally attained our goals of level 20, our shadow knights having their loathesome damage caps removed. We immediately quit playing, losing interest after acheiving our goals.
[...]
Two months of addictive play paid off with level 40+ characters. However, after going away for the summer and having discussions of the game, we realized its pointless stupidity and could no longer enjoy its mindless leveling treadmill. We tried to reconcile our beliefs by playing intermittently as new expansions were released, but never developed a consistent play schedule. We played so infrequently that, after a year of having the game, our characters were barely over level 30. Realizing how lame and stupid the game was, we quit, never again to enter Norrath. "

It reminded me of Furor's mocking rewording of that Iron Flaming Fist guy, or whatever. Cool, they managed to LOSE ten levels. Getting 20 was never a real big deal in vanilla EQ: hell levels still weren't even on the horizon, not getting to 50 with Velious' mudflated items is unforgivable. Maybe rolling dice for 3 hours over the course of a night to decide the outcome of a single round of battle using D&D 1st Ed. rules is his idea of great gameplay. I MAKE A SAVING ROLL VS. EATING THIS HOTPOCKET!

To summarize, why are these assholes already bitching about beta when they're one of the what, mere 1000 who got in out of 300,000 who applied? STFU and give me your beta if you don't like it you twerps...ooh I'd have to strategically give up sleep so I could do testing for CoH and WoW...yes, sleep is for the weak hoo-mans...Tauren Tankers need only grass and pepsi..

here's some quality feedback on the beta:

Quote:
Do you know that you used to be able to jump from any height and not incur damage? And guess what - IT WAS FUN!Do you know that when you died before you would appear at the bindstone with all your gear, no XP loss, and just have diminished stats for 5 minutes? Yeah - it used to mean something to die.

Anyone know first hand....

...if I am correct in assuming that if you want to get some sort of runspeed buff, your best bets are Shaman followed by Druid? And what about a Tauren shaman? How does plains running figure in to the equation? That whine about travel time just made me curious.

never played EQ but as far as imersion I think I would be hooked and imersed much more if I wasnt bored staring at my characters butt as he ambles down a road for 5 mins.

as a noob, walking from city to city to city and then back to that very first city can get very annoying...

If you have to spend more than 2-3 minutes running somewhere that's too long. It's just boring after you've run the route a couple of times.

I'd like to see faster run speed for players (and mobs, for balance reasons) and maybe some ability to bind nearer high level spots for high level players.

Maybe you could have a temporary bind spot that keeps you bound to an object (druid stones or an ancient tree or something) just for that play session. You'd still have to run to the bind object initially, but then if died you'd respawn at the bind object instead of in town.

Anyway, I think most MMO veterans will agree that having to spend more than a couple of minutes travelling isn't much fun.

Mounts are too high level. Why should you only be able to get around fast when you are high level.
Quote:
is "immersion factor" what they call forcing a player to spend an inordinate amount of time putzing about (walking, gathering amazingly hard to find resources, fetch quests that go all over the map, etch) between actually doing something to progress and advance their PC?

just wondering

there's some degree of this that is appropriate to present challenge, and some that's just mind-numbing tedium. it's ultimately why i prefer to play mmorpgs in beta over GR, because the dev guys are generally kinder about tedium to their testers.

QUOTE: "If there was one major reason I would not buy this game would be because of having to walk around so much."

Does this mean we'll be denied the pleasure of your company in release? Darn. Maybe Blizz will give you a personal blimp at level 1 to keep you.
Blizzard, listen to the peoples! You know waypoints in Diablo2? Put those in the game with all of them activated automatically. Then send call girls to the players houses because getting laid requires too much "dating". And hairbrushing. Fix hair please.

Actually came on tonight to post this very thread. Stole my idea. But for fucks sake, I weep at just about all of the comments i'm reading in the Beta forum. What I wouldn't give to be able to log in and flame some of those fucking retards.

"Why do people call creeps "Mobs"!! That may be ok for other MMO's but we should correct people in WoW! Kat maybe you could make this official please??"

That's not the exact quote, but I read this while taking a big shit...and something just didn't sit right after having read it and I suddenly found Jesus and he bent me right over. At any rate, I hope Blizzard more or less filters shit like that straight to a big fat trash compactor. God damn wasted beta slots. Fuck having quality testers in there who know what the fuck they're doing. Christ.

Noobcake is in beta?.......... what the fuck.....

I used to read B.net's warcraft3 boards when I was bored to see what idiotic thing was going on, or to see if a blizzard rep. had any news. Noobcake was, without exaggeration, the biggest retard in those forums. So much of a retard that I imagine him in RL being some sort of demonic fusion between Thott and Dustin. In warcraft3 he is strictly an undead player, and all he posts about is how Night Elf is unfair. Not that their overpowered, but rather NE was actually created by blizzard with the sole purpose of dicking him in the ass every time he wanted to play. He would come up with insane conspiracies, and just imagine the inane numerical data of Thott combined with the retarded, exagerrated beyond belief, claims of Dustin, and that in a nutshell is noobcake.

Haha those threads are a riot. Although there is the sad realization that moronic idiots like these will comprise a chunk of the population even after it goes live. Ah well, at least it will be easy PVP kills ;p

I think Blizzard foresaw the humor in letting these knuckle draggers into Beta and the ensuing whining. On the other hand, it's probably a good litmus test of what the average (unexperienced) player will get from the game.

On second thought, fuck em. I'm bitter.

To be fair, the class specific forums have some good info. I would even go so far to say the community is really strong and admirable. I saw some people passing out their AIM handles in one forum for any newbies that needed help.
