Best EQ Rumors

well, another expansion is about to be released, and i hear alot of rumors about it. so i remembered when velious was about to be released, people said there would be items that *melt* when leaving velious. when runnyeye got revamped people said the entrance to Plane of Disease would be in there. Not to forget all those LDoN dungeon entrances in netherbian, solb and others =P

i know there are many more i dont remember atm.

Best rumor/lie Sony ever told us was that there was anti-camping code (This was in the first 4 months of EQ). If you camped a spot items would never spawn.

The Lake Rathetear monster did exist, just never in Live. It was too big, hung up on all the islands. Gigantic shark model, just like Kraken in OoT (also removed, but for it's predeliction for predation on boat passengers).

PS. Fungi's are going nodrop, and my sow feels slower...

You guys forgot the secret level 50 sub-basement to Unrest that you need all the keys that drop in the zone to access.

And the Spectre tower in Oasis is a secret way to zone into PoH.

The top of the tower on spectre isle in Oasis leads to PoFear, and any levels you earn in the Planes of Power expansion are removed if you leave the planes. Seriously.

A old SoE friend of mine mentioned that they were looking into it as a way to avoid overpowering older content. Not sure how seriously they looked into the concept. My friend wasn't a dev though (marketing I think? Been along time) and he got fired not too long after that if my memory is correct, but I do remember asking him about that point when the rumor hit.
