Pretty interesting idea if ya ask me - it also seems doable coding-wise, although there are so many chances where lazy, SoE scripting could fubar the event. Discuss

Actually............it doesn't. When do you defend walls? When are their catapults? When are there Archers firing at you in the 10th ring war? The ONLY thing that is similar between this and the 10th ringwar is that a city is being defended. The battle is totally different. Edit: Removed dickheadish comments

| Aside from the giants that chuck spears at you? What about the droves of mobs that spawn and come barreling towards Thurgadin (the city). Also the fact that the even lasts several hours. Boss mobs spawning at the end? Thats in the 10th ring war too! Entire zone despawning? Ragu? Its in there! Honestly, the only difference in what you describe is the fact that we've substituted some of the mobs with ladders and catapults. Don't get me wrong, It sounds like a cool event, and I'd prolly even give it a try, but for the most part it's been done in the 10th ring war. -=[ Thug ]=- |

Yeah, pretty much. Now that I look at it, it really is :P. Thug, I suppose your right, just one question though - when were mobs hurling spears at you? I remember spearmen guarding the path to the other part of the zone, but nothing about spear hurlers :P.

| Come on, I'm sure you can come up with an argument that doesn't revolve around spelling issues. It sounds like a fun battle. A lot more fun than the 10th ring war, at least.

| Freeport's a poor example. WFP and EFP are both way too small, flat and bland to make this interesting. Fellwithe is great. Kaladim is great. Oggrok's not bad, innothule's very good (the swamps are good). But, truth be told, the absolute BEST place to do this would be Wakening Lands, provided you establish some fort-type setting like the giants have. WL is the best because you could have 2 separate defend scripts. Hell, if EQ was any good at PVP/guild vs. guild, WL would be great, have 1 guild + dragons invading 1 guild + giants. |

| Woo! Newlevelonehumanwarrior shouts, 'one more dead snake and i'll be level 2!' [New warrior runs through the West Freeport entrance towards the newbie zone.] Bigbadfightboss shouts, 'Surely you did not think you could hope to keep The Cursed out! Your city shall be squashed, just as you were, Newbielevelonehumanwarrio!!' Newlevelonehumanwarrior has been slain by TheCursedFootSoldier_01! LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... Newlevelonehumanwarrior has been slain by TheCursedArcher_03! LOADING, PLEASE WAIT.... Yeah, they could add more newbie monsters somewhere (also keep in mind that the newbie bind point is out in the newbie yard), but the thought of a death loop for some poor new person is just too precious a memory to let pass. Heck, I think I'd start this war just so I could enjoy the fun. Am I evil?
