Person1: "Ok, time again to make a new class...ideas???" Person2: "How about high offense/low defense" Person1: "Like a Monk" Person2: "No, higher offense" Person1: "So a rouge" Person2: "Oh yea, we've done that...how about low offensive and high... Person1: "Paladin" Person2: "What about hybrids, have we done all those; war/dru, war/clr, war/shm?" Person1: "Done, done, and done...though beastlords are more monk/shaman then warrior/shaman...so you might be on to something... Person2: "pal/sk, rng/bst?" Person1: "Well see, now you are just combining hybrids with other hybrids" Person2: "The problem being...???" Person1: "I have a hard enough time telling paladins ands SK apart as is" Person2: "We could change the color are their armor, Paladins wear white, SKs black..." Person1: "and this new hybrid would wear...grey?" Person2: "Grey, yes, of course. Person1: "And his religious beliefs? this Paladin/SK hybrid?" Person2: "He's agnostic...with agnostic sounding spells like...Unknown God's Fury, and Unseen God's Guard" Person1: "Ok, then we just need one more...we had ranger/beastlord on the table...only problem is, epic weapon!" Person2: "Haste/Slow combo has worked twice now...why mess with a classic?" Person1: "So now we now have three classes with the same class specific weapon?" Person2: "I'm willing to entertain suggestions" Person1: "I have none left...a hybrid of other hybrids it is" Person2: "So it's settled, we add a grey knight, and warrior/druid/shaman/monk hybrid" Person1: "Excellent, let's do lunch...what do you prefer Chinese or Italian?" Person2: "How about both???" Person1: "Spaghetti covered with Sweet & Sour sauce? GENIUS!

| They're missing Beastlords on that list. Which is one of the finer classes in the game currently. I wouldn't imagine them not putting them into EQ2, it would be a huge downer.* *not a furry Last edited by Xaen : 12-24-2003 at 10:08 AM. |

| The class descriptions artisan and scout really give it away. It will be a SWG clone. Because of that one should not bother much with EQ 2 and look what other companies have to offer. My favorite is Sigil atm.

| Best reply ever. Q: With a rapidly growing MMP market, what do you think are the essential ingredients for a MMP and how does Pirates fit that bill? Russell: There are two ways to gain an advantage: buy awareness with a large investment and/or a big license, or make a game so unlike the rest that it's impossible to ignore. A Tale in the Desert, for example, has a very small player base and is clearly a niche game, but it has a lot of awareness because it's such an unusual approach. Star Wars: Galaxies on the other hand has a big license and a fat bankroll. |

| I thought I had read somewhere they wernt going to have Bards in EQ 2. Aside from the fact my User name is Lost Ranger, my main is accually a 65 bard, and Ill be the first to say the class needs to be either excluded or toned down big time. I admit I like being able to solo pretty much anything, and to be able to make more AA exp faster then anyone else can with a group but in the bigger picture that is WAY over balanced. I think in terms of grouping Bards are fairly well done in EQ. They are the ultimate support class which is what they were intended as. They shouldnt however, be godly duelers, and over the top solo machines either. Im sure most of you know that a good bard in the group usally makes the grind a bit less painful and quicker... I think thats should be the only role. Sorry for sorta derailing.. But take a look at the AAs coming out in GoD. Improved Instrument Mastery, and Singing Mastery. If any of you have ever spent the time to read Thotts terrible boring and self praising writing you would know that those AAs increase bard power by alot. Too give them further increases is totally insane. I dont think GoD was ment to take an already over powered class and increase that power two fold. I know those that disagree are more then likely bards who enjoy the power.. But this has to stop at some point and be fixed. I am interested to see the DoT dmg we pump out once we have these AAs under our belt. Being able to keep 4 dots doing 300dmg a tick going 24/7 because of no mana would be interesting to say the least. Oh well guess. IMO though dont add it to EQ2. Or take some time and do it right. |

| Bards also shouldn't bebetter than chanters really which they are imo. They also shouldn't be better pullers than any other class. I LOVE bards to have in my groups, but to be objective they are overpowered.

| Candiarie, encounters in EQ2 are locked, so if my group is fighting something, you CAN'T attack it. Similarly, if my "raid" is attacking a mob, you can't attack it, or heal my groupmates at all. This is all done so that they can balance encounters without having the open-ended loophole on the player's side that EQLive has, where people can just bring more and more players on a raid until they can kill a mob. With a locked encounter with a hard cap on the max number of players, they can better control how the players must go about things to actually win. So yes, you will be stuck with a max of 24 people.
