| I'm getting pretty annoyed at Fringe for outright recycling X-Files plots this season. First there was the Home ep, now this week we have the astronaut-comes-back-with-alien-parasite (combined with shadow-that-burns-things-into-dust, ANOTHER X-Files plot), and the preview for next week is psychic man uses mind control to make someone pull a gun on their partner. Now, I'm all for the humorous nods in that direction (the shapeshifters are cool), but straight-out plagiarism just makes me wish I was watching an X-Files rerun. Plus the whole CIA/FBI/senate blah blah blah subplot is just trying so hard to tack on some cancer man shit, but isn't working at all.

+14 Internets | I have no problem with a similar premise done well, but...this felt like a 'meh' episode at best to me. It started really strong for me but once it boiled down to 'astral alien projection' it was kind of lost. I felt Walter was quite weak in it, as well. |

| My DVR didnt think Fringe was going to air and thus I had no idea we even had a new episode. God I wish I could get a proper HD TiVo but the CableCard prevents that... Thank goodness for Hulu, but its not exactly HD

| I agree that episode with the shadow guy turning people to ash was one of the weaker episodes. It was still enjoyable to watch though and better than 95% of the rest of the crap on TV. I also agree about copying some Xfiles themes but with a show like this some stuff is going to overlap.

| Fox recently hacked Past Life down to six or seven hours, which means there is a prime post-AI Tuesday slot open. The problem being that Lie to Me is not canceled yet - and Lie To Me is made by Fox, while Fringe is made by WB. One of them gets the easy Tuesday life, one of them is canceled by the end of the year. We'll see how it shakes out. |

Anyway, I thought the most recent Fringe was excellent. And there was a decent ratings bump compared to last week. | |

+14 Internets | I liked the new one too, it was again an xfiles plot but it was different enough feeling for me to still be good, and I was glad they didn't try to stretch the 'the kid was behind it' 'shocker' out since it was pretty obvious if you weren't braindead. Ending was good too. |

| Good guest stars and an ending which actually ties it into the overall plot = me happy. I'm still disappointed we are going to end up with 1/2 of a season of filler, but eh, at least it's entertaining. Did anyone get some exceptionally creepy Walter vibes this episode? I had a feeling he knew a lot more than he was letting on. |
