Yeah, so, what's with the vampire obsession lately? There are like half a dozen vampire movies coming out over the next 6 months.

Anyway, anyone watch WB's Vampire Diaries? Is it even worth watching? I am guessing no since absolutely no one has posted on it, but hey worth slapping up a thread for future generations to reference.

With them calling it the TV version of Twilight, I cant see how it could be good.

I watched it because its on before Supernatural and nothing else was on. Not going to waste my time again. Too much teen angst, even from a 150 year old vampire.

Perfect for the Twilight crowd I guess.

Eh I liked it. yeah it's cheezy as hell,but at least when they vamp out they look like vampires instead of those twilight faggots

There was some fighting in the first episode so they do have some kind of a budget. The Damien character was kinda cool because he just tortured his brother the entire time

The production value is pretty good on it. The teenagers are nice looking,and the direction is kinda like Roswell.

Yeah, so would probly compare this more to a vampire version of Roswell instead of Twilight.

Is there really a a ton of vampire movies and shows out lately?? it seems like there is just as many vampire movies and shows out as normal the only difference is twilight had a huge draw of 12 year old girls.

I didn't hate it like I expected to, but it certainly isn't good either. How the fuck a show like this gets greenlit, but Moonlight had to be canceled is beyond me. I guess Moonlight was just a year too early to the party.

There is alot more stuff now since twilight.

Two big budget vampire movies coming out,and Two vampire series.

Usualy you get one vampire series max such as a buffy.

BTW I hate fucking Twilight,but I do like True Blood.

Maybe they will do a decent Blade TV show now...

I also think the Anita Blake TV series is being prepped.

I have no clue about that series tho,people say its gay like twilight.

Anita Blake is just as good/bad as Southern Vampire (True Blood), for the first 8 books. Then she just stopped trying and writes nothing but an endless series of terrible sex scenes. At least Anita Blake got 8 decent books; her other series was garbage from the very start. Basically the "urban fantasy" genre goes:

Kim Harrison

Laurell K. Hamilton / Charlaine Harris / Jim Butcher

<about a thousand others, of which I've read maybe 15 and none of them were memorable>

Twilight

And last I heard the Anita Blake thing was just a made-for-TV movie due out in 2010, and it wasn't a pilot for a series. I'm sure they'll make more movies if it's successful though. Hamilton tried to sell the rights for a major studio movie a couple years ago, and from what I read she priced herself out of any possibility for it to happen, so I guess that's why she ended up selling to Lionsgate/IFC for TV instead.

I liked it better then Twilight, but still well below Moonlight or Blood Ties. I'll probably keep watching it since there's not a whole lot on atm.
