| Really awesome writing in this show, most dramas go to ridiculous lengths to re-enforce the melodrama (Lost - where nobody talks to anybody else), here we have people just telling the truth to each other and we get to see what happens. Also was pretty interesting seeing Zobells run-around, and Clay finally wising up and not going in with guns blazing. I need to re-watch the episode to hear the Irish guy though, I could not understand a fucking word he was saying when meeting the other IRA gangster ![]() I guess I never really understood the beginnings of SAMCRO, so it was 9 dudes from Vietnam who started a motorcycle gang? I assume its Jax's dad, Clay, Piney, and 6 others - they are in different areas of the country or dead? Good stuff, hope they announce season 3 pickup soon. Opie was awesome, the sheriff was awesome, I even liked Stahl and how she broke down in her car. |

![]() Club was formed in 67 by John, Piney and 2 vets. Then 2 other vets, Clay and 2 unnamed guys joined. Clay did go to Nam, but not till 2 years after joining the MC. As far as i can tell, no info about the other 6 is out there. | |

+4 Internets | Had got behind, plowed through the last three episodes tonight. I left them feeling two things: A) This show is better than we had any right to hope. B) Things are tidying up just a little too cleanly. Now knowing the source material you know things are going to go a certain way. But do we know if there is a set end date for this, or do you think they will do a filler season or two to drag it out?

| Don't get me wrong, I like this show as much as the next guy. But given that the Sopranos is a strong inspiration, sometimes it feels as if they are ripping that show off.

+16 Internets | I feel like the Sopranos is more of a matter of associated themes than direct inspiration. Other than being a family drama with a crime backdrop, they're miles apart. Kurt Sutter posted on his blog that he's certain they're going to get a pickup for season 3, though it isn't finalized yet. He's already got the season 3 arc planned out. I'm personally quite happy to hear that my favorite cable show is returning. And yes, Opie is the fucking man. He was my favorite character in season 1, and it was hard to watch him spiral into such a dark place in the first half of this season. Watching him spare Stahl was amazing. Ryan Hurst does a great job of showing the quiet intensity behind all of his actions. |

| Yea, I didn't pay him much attention before. I figured he'd suicide anyway, but he really is my favorite now. He is so conflicted, and just slightly less predictable. Everyone else's actions seem so inevitable several episodes prior. |

| Fantastic show, everything heading to a collision course by the end of the season now that the club sort of has their shit together.

+58 Internets | To be fair.. there are no original stories any more. An honest assessment would say that last teller of a truly original story might be Aristophanes. Point to any great story and you can find where it borrowed from. Hell.. even the Godfather totally ripped off the story of the Medici family. Yea.. SoA has been ripping off Hamlet this season in many ways. But they seem to be shifting from that. (Kind of hits a dead end, dont it) Its hard not to fall into the Shakespeare trap. His stories are etched into the back of all of our subconciousness, either through popular exposure or maybe because Billy Shakes tapped into something universal. But when you follow his lead, his stories lead to the inevitable conclusion. He wasnt worried about sequels or another season. There is a finality that modern tv and movies cant handle. Tales of Patricide and Regicide have only one conclusion... So as they shift away from the Hamlet ending... where to? Jax kills clay and we spend a season as Macbeth? Doubtful. Most likely we are unfortunately seeing the jumping of the shark with this show. I pray Im wrong, I hope they can find another theme that is so compelling.. but it aint easy. |
