That episode was very emotional. Just...wow.

It was like a house special. I am sort of reluctant to return to the old cast. It was just amazing to see what Laurie and the writers could do in a 2 hour period.

Great start to the season, it is going to go down from here though. All the chars you saw you are never going to be seen again. The very badass P.I. lasted two episodes, we all loved him and his interactions with House but Fox just removed him and that was it.

One of two things is going to happen they will continue the trend of House being happy House, he might have a normal relationship with Cuddy. Than BAM typical drama his Ex-wife will be back in the picture and he has to choose between Cuddy and her. Another route is Cuddy does have a child so he is going to be daddy house? I kind of doubt they are going to go all WB on us but this is Fox after all.

The other thing is leg pain will increase for some reason causing him to need a stronger drug, or something really horrible is going to happen that causes him to go back to typical House. This would return him quickly back to the formula that we all love. The halicinations just stopped, they didn't flicker out we never saw CTB and two lines of dialouge explained it all away.

Asylum is gone, they may make a reference or two and a slim chance of seeing the suicidal girl.

Season opener was incredible.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
About a half hour from the end I just knew that Lydia girl was going to turn out to be another imaginary person House made up and he'd be stuck in a straight jacket or something. I was surprised the nuthouse ended so quickly, if infact it did.... I guess it did considering what I saw in the previews for the rest of the season.

Another thing I don't get is the whole deal with him caring for Lydia anyway... he's supposed to be hot for Cuddy...

Seemed like he gave up on making their lives hell at the hospital way too easy. I mean I'm glad he's "gonna be a happier person" but I wanted more House ownage.

That scene where he crows the claustraphobic guy was pure win. That is classic, classic House fuckin with ya!

Pretty sad about what happened to Freedom though. I'm surprised House's stay wasn't changed from voluntary to involuntary at that point.

Andre Braugher sure packed on some pounds from making Thief to the filming of House season opener. I guess the stress of a failed show got to him...

I didn't like that dickhead cop. I wasn't all that big on that whole storyline tbh. I wouldn't say everyone "loved" the interaction between House and the cop.

One of House's saving graces, imo, is that most of the problems are solved episode to episode. I was a HUGE fan of the Shield when it came out. I enjoyed the episode building a problem and then resolving it. Occasionally a problem would span a few episodes and that was ok... I really, really got tired of a whole season building to an end though. When shows do that there are always a shitload of FILLER episodes where nearly nothing interesting happens. If there are a few elements of the show that span over the season that's fine, but the meat of the show should still be confined primarily to a single episode, otherwise it becomes more of a soap opera...

Don't think they're talking about the cop aka Tritter who tried to put House behind bars besides he was on for almost half the season. I think they're talking about the P.I that House hired to spy on Wilson. Trying to remember what other shows he's been on so you can place his face.

Good episode as everyone stated. I really enjoyed how much House was wrong when it came to the patients of the psychiatric ward. It had me wondering if that's what brought on a change in him: whether he felt terrible for hurting the 'superhuman' dude or whether he realised that he is human and here was an area he couldn't use rationalisation to solve a problem.

Also looks like he's quitting the doctor profession from the upcoming ep preview. woop

He was the cop in Garden State that pulls over Zach Braff's char.

BTW I have a question about last nights 2 hour episode:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Did anyone else think that when House got into the bus in the end he would have some sort of a breakdown? Because the last time we saw him in a bus it was hit by a trashtruck and Amber was killed. I was expecting a zoom out at the very end to see Amber sitting next to him on the bus, instead he just smiled. I really thought that would happen as soon as I saw the bus.

I clued in on Freedom Master only like ten seconds ahead of his dive (oh shit, House is wrong) and after that kick to the sack I was damn sure the end was going to have some crazy twist much like how he had that complete fantasy at the end of the last season. Instead of sticking it out he did get the transfer and the place he ended up was much, much worse. His drug use picked right back up again and no one cared.

He was so still in the zoom out... like what they do when there's a pile of bloody squibs sitting behind someone. I thought they'd pop or something random would happen and he'd wake up, indicating something is still not quite right in his head. Guess we don't need that confirmation, he's still House.

Fantastic episode, but thought I'd get more hospital this season. Maybe we will in other ways.

I'm sorry, but why the hell does anyone with any technical know-how watch live TV these days? Record it, start watching 30 minutes in. Or watch it whenever you want to.

Just the time lost on commercials and scheduling your life around broadcasts would be enough to pay for a DVR if it wasn't wasted.

Oh and the episode was awesome.

As a big Broadway buff, I was super surprised when Lin Manuel jumped into the screen (Alvy). FYI, he was the creator/writer/star of the 2008 Tony award winning best musical: In the Heights. Had a conversation with him after one of his shows before they won the Tony. He's cool as hell.

I'd like to see him back, but I think he has a lot on his plate to be a regular.
