| Mike Isabella is clearly going to be the "bad guy" of the season and will probably piss me off and make me hope for his early demise. I'd agree with your top 5. I felt that at least 3 of those were the front runners before they brought out the 4 winners, and your five are those four + 1 I think? |

I still don't think it was a good choice to serve Wolfgang, but I don't that was a totally bad idea by default. | |

+13 Internets | Were those really gauges? Near the end of the show I finally realized they might be, instead of just super big earrings but never really saw with conviction. That's fucking ridiculous. I think Bourdain is right, 99% of the people in the cooking industry are fucking weird as fuck. |

| My wife goes into hardcore vegan mode sometimes and uses seitan, it can actually taste pretty good but yeah completely stupid to use it in the first challenge, its just a pale imitation of pork in flavors, texture, etc. The blondie who can't cook shrimp is next imo. Season looks like it'll be awesome, except for the blondie and gauge-girl the rest all seem really good. I really like how they are showing more of the kitchen and cooking too, and Tom is taking more charge at the judges table and giving good critiques. Penn and Teller as guest judges? hell ya. Hopefully they get Bourdain to swing in too. |

| The issue with that dish wasn't even the seitan, though, as the judges noted. It was just terribly cooked - and you could tell from the closeup camera shot, it was just bad. |

+107 Internets | This. That idiot kept talking about how she took a chance and was more daring than the others. Taking chances is one thing. Your food not tasting good trumps all other aspects of the challenge. |

| my wife took one look at those ears and refused to watch the show until that chick was gone. good thing she got kicked off first episode. rooting for ron as he obviously is full of win, but i'm feeling like his win was a sympathy vote. hopefully he'll cook well. i like hector too, but same story - may not have the chiops, if you know what i mean. i can't believe that ripert has a bitch like jennifer working for him... i guess you can't personally screen all of your employees after a certain point... other than that, i think the volt bros may be good, isabella needs to die in a fire, and mattin is puntable. |

| Why wasn't Padma in a bikini?! And, was she trashed at the end of the food sampling part? Girls as a whole are really weak this season. Only 3 or so of them have made anything that has had good things said about it. |
