Spring 09 Anime Season thread

New season is a few weeks away, I'm looking forward to alot of shows.

I don't think Spice and Wolf 2 nor Hayate no Gotoku 2 is airing this season, but they do have Episode 0 OVAs coming out before their actual shows start.

I'll watch all the non kiddy shows episode 1 atleast, but the ones I know I'll follow are:

FMAv2
K-On!
Natsu no Arashi
Asura' Crying
Queen's Blade

FMA remake is all I really need. Christ the manga story is so much better.

Well, and more Horo is never a bad thing.

Can't wait for Requiem for the Phantom. I remember hearing about the game a long time ago, but never actually played either version of it. Sadly, that's the only thing that looks to match my tastes in anime, though I guess one show is better than the zero of the past couple seasons.

And in slightly related news, I can't believe that Mnemosyne actually got licensed this week. Guess I can stop holding my breath for Shinsen to finally finish their translation of it, and start waiting to see just how badly FUNimation butchers it in the name of censorship for a US audience.

Wait they're redoing the whole thing? That's kind of weird seeing as how successful the anime original was.

Yeah, they're following the manga to a T this time.

I love the FMA anime and it was great, but the manga just puts it to shame (which is pretty damn hard to do). So I'm pretty excited about this.

Yeah, FMA kind of got ridiculous as it strayed from teh manga near the end and made their own ending while the manga was still being published. The movie was like a huge WTF mates as well.

Weird...don't see any obvious fan service shows(besides sequels).

edit: ahh missed the tentacle rape, still seems less then usual though.

I thought the FMA anime was still good, even though it strayed. I'm really pumped about the remake following the manga.

Eh? Mnemosyne has been fully subbed forever.

Meh, can't say I see anything there that really excites me, especially when compared to last Spring. At least a couple of those OVAs look somewhat interesting like Tsubasa, though I'm not sure if it is on par with Tokyo Revelation or if it is like that shitty bird kingdom movie. Then I'll probably check out that Conan vs Lupin OVA since that crossover sounds kind of cool.

Also bummed Tytania is apparently ending just in time for spring; I was expecting at least 50 episodes so hopefully there's a S2. At least we get double episodes in March.

Then there's the new Gundam series or OVA coming out sometime so I guess that makes up for the lack of mech anime this spring.

Shinsen only did 1-3. 4-6 by A-E/Ureshii was disappointingly poor by comparison.

I'm looking forward to the FMA remake......

But after finally getting around to playing Valkyria Chronicles and loving it I certainly can see a lot of potential in that series. I'm interested in how that will work out.

Perhaps if it gets enough popularity we'll see another game as well, I was disappointed at how badly the game did in both Japan and the United States despite being a glorious strategy RPG.
