For an Anime. I felt that To Aru Majutsu jumped around way to much. It didn't feel streamlined at all.
That's how the novels are too, the name of the novels is kind of misleading, there aren't even really any main characters except for Touma. It's a plot driven series not character driven.

Theres a general story in the background the novels follow but the setting and cast of characters changes each novel, older characters/organizations make appearances later on after they are not in every novel.

For instance, the blond haired lady at the end of 24 is the leader of Necessarius, the organization introduced in the first novel/arc who are trying to reclaim Index - in the next novel/arc Index and Touma are headed to England, and its the first time you really see Styl and the black haired samurai chick since the beginning.

I wish they would of done a better job explaining all the crazy science stuff but I don't think that would adapt well to anime (leads too alot of exposition, which there is already alot of in the novel/anime), but thats why the novels are so popular is all the cool science stuff.

You just need to realize the anime will jump around with different characters/settings because all that matters is the plot, not the characters - except Touma.

Edit: Toradora 25 (END) just aired, pretty good ending, was pretty much like the novel except Ryuuji had to wait a whole year until they graduated for Taiga instead of just ~2-3 months in the novel.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Only real difference is Taiga is only gone 2 months instead of a whole year,

2 months later, the first day of his 3rd-year at school, Ryuuji bumps into Taiga. Turns out that Taiga's able to stay in town on the condition that she looks after her baby brother (but this is for 1 year only). Some more awwwwwww moments and Taiga and Ryuuji walk to school, holding each other's hands while they're both dreaming up a happy future where they're living together.

Other than that, a good adaption by JC staff for once, man I love it when source material has an ending instead of some of the unfinished manga/novels that get adapted to anime and end up having awful endings as the studios scramble to come up with something.

Perfect ending to Toradora. Really can't think of a way they could have ended it better.

All I could think at the end of Rideback 10 was "Bitch... you should have stayed in the kitchen!"

Is that wrong?

So has...anyone been watching sora o kakeru shoujo? I never even gave the chance since it looked so dumb but..watched all 11 eps out and I want more.

I don't understand it, the story is so stupid and full of cliches but it's interesting to me.

It's Lelouch err... Leopard. He's really the only thing that makes that series worth watching in my opinion. The rest of the show is absurd but mildly entertaining.

Then Druaga just ended. I actually thought the ending was decent but I appear to be of the minority opinion. But I wouldn't be surprised if this ending was another troll and the true ending is in July, which the movie poster in the first OP hinted at.

I enjoyed the ending to Tower of Druaga. But I sat down and watched all 24 episodes over the last 3 days.

Leopard is definitely the reason I watch Sora, but I understand they can't use him too much. The rest is bizarre but watchable, some cool fight scenes and the OST is pretty good.

Druaga ending was just ok, the whole part where he uses the tower to attack the sky.... and the sky/gods literally shoot back was unnecessary.

And 5 bucks that because of this post I get another "japaniphile faggot" -Rep from the obsessed person who's been generously spreading the hate around.

Over the past week I went back and watched s1 of Hajime no Ippo, thought that would be something good to follow this season, however the animation is completely diff and less detailed, so not so sure about that.

Druaga had a decent ending, pretty expected too I guess, not as nicely done as Toradora, but to be expected.

Soul Eater is the last anime from past season I am waiting to end, dont usually see much talk of it here, but it did seriously become one of my fav to-follow serious once I got past the first 7 or so episodes.

Dam, no more skip beat, that was a really entertaining series tho.

The manga is fully scanlated and caught up, new chapter every couple weeks, if you wanted to see what happens next before the obvious 2nd season.

They left it at such a bad spot too (cliffhanger wise), so many good scenes happen in the manga right after the last episode.

Random Curiosity has a preview for spring now, which I always find to be one of the most enlightening even if you don't always see eye to eye with him.

Spring 2009 Preview! | Random Curiosity

From this, and the additional material in this thread, I'll likely try out:

Sengoku Basara
Asura Cryin'
Basquatch!
Shangri-la
Saki (because I want to see how they make Mahjong super exciting)

Maybe some others, but that is what hit me after the first pass.

I'm going to give a couple of those a shot, Basquatch looks like it has outstanding animation but the subject is kind of odd for my tastes.

Hatsukoi Limited., i saw that it said Ichigo 100% which was probably one anime i couldnt get enough of even though it was so silly and perverse.

GF will probably make fun of me for watching this but i'll do it anyway!

Is the fullmetal alchemist a remake or continuation? I've never seen the series before, might try and find a decent DL of it unless it will take 1000 years to catch up.

Fullmetal is a remake that follows the manga, so no reason not to jump in now.
