| Eden of the East - Reminds me a lot about Honey & Clover, same animation studio? Idk. I just watch anime. But I really enjoyed the first ep., spy/comedy anime? I'm in. The opening credit is done really well. |

The mangaka of H&C did the character designs for Eden of the East though. | |

| So I just finished Toradora (yeah, I know I'm slow) and I have to say I pretty much loved it. The interaction between Ryuuji and Taiga was pretty excellent from start to finish and I thought it ended pretty well also. My only possible complaint would be the way Taiga left for awhile (which I understand is part of the source material but still) after the awesome build-up in her relationship with Ryuuji. It kinda felt like the author was just trying to get an emotional reaction with a last minute gut-shot before finishing out the story. At any rate, I definitely rank it among the best of the high school romance anime's I've seen and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride from start to finish. Oh, and Queen's Blade is one of the more ridiculous things I've ever seen, despite the tits and abundance of bishoujo. I honestly dont know if I can bring myself to watch another episode, haha.

+25 Internets | Since we are in the middle of a Toradora digression, I also saw it recently and found it very good BUT I have two problem with the show. First, it starts in a very original way around the idea that people are not what they appear to be, but little by little the story falls back to an annoying cliché: having all the female main characters in love with the male main character. The second is almost a corollary, it's the lack of development of Kitamura (?) the best friend. But it's nit-picking really, because the serie works very well even with these flaws. If you care, with the same comedico-romantico-drama style, but with older characters, I also watched Honey & Clover. It is an unreciprocated love hexagon with other themes in the mix, like creation (it's set in an art school) or entering adulthood (in that regard the last 5 or 6 episodes are nothing short of amazing and very original). There are some problems though, notably big ruptures of the otherwise realist tone around one of the characters. The additional mini serie Honey & Clover 2 is not essential. It even breaks a very important rule of the previous serie: there are two main characters that never have internal monologues in voice over (the two faces of talent: the solar, unpredictable Morita and the lunar, introvert Hagu) that suddenly have some, not necessarily for the best. Anyway... the last anime series I watched before these two was Azumanga Daiô, Samurai Champloo and Texhnolyze so I have been out of touch for 5ish years. What are the new classics I missed in this lapse? PM me if you feel it is too much of an hijack.

| Err the only two that love Ryuuji were Taiga and Minori, Ami just wanted normal friends and didn't want the love triangle between those three to break up the friendship the five of them had. The ending for novel and anime is pretty much the same, except Taiga only lived with her mom for about 2 months instead of a year+ (just until the beginning of senior year) and it ended w/ Ryuuji and Taiga walking to school and Ryuuji thinking that he looks forward to their life together and marriage blah blah. Some anime you have missed in last 5 years is Code Geass season 1 and 2, Gundam 00 season 1 and 2, Kanon, Clannad and Clannad Afterstory, Spice and Wolf, ....too many to list. I could probably list another 30 worth watching. |

+75 Internets | I think you'd like Kannagi if you enjoyed Azumanga and Toradora Seirei no Moribito if you enjoyed the action of Samurai Champloo Tower of Druaga season 1 & 2 for RPG-flavored anime Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei for harem adult-themed humor, not as stupid as other harem animes |
