| I didn't realize quite how far VLC had fallen. I stopped using it about 4 years ago for zoom because of mkv compatibility and subtitle formatting issues. I still use it to play dvds without any issues. I don't remember why, but either zoom doesn't support it, or it didn't run well. |

+1 Internets | Here I thought Pandora Hearts was going to be wild then I watched Sengoku Basara. It's a hearty meal. One samurai has six swords and a horse with exhaust pipes? There's a blonde ninja who can hide in plain sight, cleverly concealed by her awesome cleavage. Another horse rode straight up a wall then the guy riding it blocked a sword with his eyeball and punched a ninja in the face. Something exploded then some ghosts caught on fire and died. This twelve year old kid launched thousands of arrows in the air till seven landed on a fat guy. Finally a dark lord arrived and shot some poor clown in the face at point blank range before tossing his corpse off a cliff. And I think I tasted egg and cinnamon. |

| So far... Shangri-la (2/5) - I watched the first episode and I wasn't impressed by it. The main character using a boomerang that can cut through tanks was somewhat cool so I will be watching the second episode and see how it goes. The plot of the anime is kind of stupid... something about carbon emitions and people going to war over them :/ K-On (3/5)- A 4 student high school music club that aims to make their own band and play in a concert. Has its funny moments and will overload you with cuteness. I like the animation style ![]() Full Metal Alchemist (2009) 3/5 - I have no idea what is going on. I watched the first series but I actually don't see how these series follows the previous one. Can anyone explain this to me? Are they remaking the series or is this a re-run? The series started different than the previous one, but it doesn't seem like a sequel since characters are back alive when they had previously died in the other series. The animation looks exactly the same as the first series, but the plot is jumping all over the place. Sengoku Basara (2/5) - Hmmmm the earlier description in this thread was giving it too much credit. Yeah it had its 2-3 funny moments but probably not worth watching for. The animation wasn't that good either... and the fight scenes too fake for me. (I know... its anime... but still) I couldn't follow the plot on this one too well. But there seem to be multiple factions trying to conquer land. The two main factions have two characters with special abilities, while the rest of the army are just there to fill up space. Hajime no Ippo New Challenger (3/5) - I like the first season more. These series seem to go waaaaay to slow. Still got a couple more to watch tonight.... hopefully they are better ![]() |

| The new FMA, if you bothered to read anything at all in this thread, is a complete remake of the series that is supposed to follow the Manga unlike the original (aside from the Anima Original ep that it started off with). |

+4 Internets | I'm so happy they only bothered to spend one episode going over Ed and Al's back story. I was not looking that forward to FMA2 simply because I didn't want to see 15+ episodes of back story again. Episode 3 looks to start where the last anime started and goes from there, skipping most of the back story. |

| The first episode of FMA was an anime original (sort of, the Ice Alchemist was in the manga but I forget where) to reintroduce the characters. Episode two is basically a redone (better) version of how Ed lost his arm/leg and Al lost his body, plus Ed becoming an alchemist - basically zipped through the first few episodes of the first series and condensed it nicely. They are probably going to quickly go over the manga material that the first series covered and then go from where it split off into anime original. |
