If it is done as well as Battle Star Galactica was, this has a lot of promise.

There is plenty of story to be told with the concept of an alien culture suddenly appearing in our sky...

I wouldn't get your hopes up that it will as well done as BSG, it is going to be on network TV.

But maybe this won't be the crap that is usually on network TV.

i remember the night the V series started, i was 12yrs old playing Defender at the arcade and they had the TV overhead on. all of a sudden the V commercial comes on and i realized that i was missing the beginning of it. i ran like 5 blocks to my house and just missed 10 minutes of it. what a great mini series, the TV show was meh. they could have done without the whole starchild shit and more of the lizard queen. she was damn sexy.
best scene is the alien baby crawling out of the chick's snatch.

I dunno. I really liked him up until Highlander 2. Yeah yeah it was likely just the movie's fault but bleh.

I'll definitely watch it, but I'm not all that optimistic. I absolutely loved the mini-series as a kid. I own V and the final battle on DVD and watch them start to finish probably 2-3 times a year.

ABC has ordered a pilot for the V reboot.

ABC has officially greenlit a pilot for its reworking of "V," the 1980s miniseries about alien lizards coming down to Earth (Daily Variety, Oct. 10).

New adaptation of the franchise was written by "The 4400" co-creator/exec producer Scott Peters. Peters is aboard to exec produce along with HDFilms principal Jason Hall. Warner Bros. TV, which was behind the original longform, is producing.

The new "V" centers on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent with an aimless son. When the aliens arrive, her son gloms on to them -- causing tension within the family.

Like the original, show centers on visitors who say they've come to help the Earth -- but their motives are nefarious.

Original "V" writer-producer Kenneth Johnson is not involved in the new edition. The 1983 longform spawned a sequel and then a weekly series that lasted one season.

I'll give it a look, seems interesting and I still pull out the V miniseries to watch every few years.

didn't know what to think of this at first, but the more I think about it, this could be pretty good. Maybe the Beastmaster will have a role like Apollo did in BSG. And I'm 100% in if Ironside joins up. The guy looks the same as he did 20 years ago, no reason he couldn't pull it off.

I love V and I got the miniseries and the final battle on DVD. Both are awesome still. That being said the bar is so high for me on this that I am almost certain that I will be disappointed, hopefully I am wrong. The only plus now is that the special effects can be 1000x better. But do not change those laser guns and their sound effects, those are perfect the way they are.
