What a fantastic episode, I'm glad to see SGU ignore the conventional sci-fi cliche of action, adventure, and exploration -- instead devoting most of their episode to people talking about how much they mean to each other.

I'd like to pitch a new series to ScyFy, Star Trek Universe. The show will take place in a large meeting room where the budgetary issues of the Federation will be discussed each week, each episode title and plot could revolve around individual line items of the federations accounts receivables. At night some of the accountants will sneak back in and sex each other up, to keep it spicy.

My sentiments exactly. Speaking of which, it's Friday and that means it's time to talk about how this week's episode made no sense. At least it wasn't terribly boring this week.

Whats the time limit on spoilers here, anyway?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

So the episode starts out with Young dreaming about banging TJ. For no apparent reason. Even though he seemingly loves the hell out of his wife. SGU: we know drama.

Earth is willing to risk the lives of the entire expedition because they now know where the 9th chevron leads to? That makes no sense. Destiny is junk compared to Atlantis tech. Earth ship FTL > Destiny's. Not to mention Destiny is in no immediate danger, but they play up this "OMG we have to get them home NOW!" sentiment.

So apparently they are locked out of the core systems because of an access code. Yet they can access the weapon systems? Yet they can do shit that puts the ship in danger? Yet Rush can manipulate false shipwide alarms? I'm assuming they aren't trying to access the bridge because they somehow know that the bridge controls are also locked out by that same code. You'd think they might want to at least check the damn ship out and visit the bridge or engineering, considering taking control over the ship should be their top priority.

Still no mention what so ever of what the ship's mission is. Apparently the ship drops out of FTL periodically by itself yet nobody explains why?

Emily sure seemed willing to bang Telford's body. If people actually took control of each other's bodies like that, they sure as hell would have some serious problems with that kind of shit. If I get herpes I had better of had a good time getting it. Makes great mind fuck television though I suppose.

Finally a "you are here" indicator on the show though. Yay.

I feel like this show is just really slow so far. I'm hoping they'll actually do something with the rest of the ship instead of just playing hunter/gatherer 90210 in the gate room.

I think once an episode has aired its open to spoilers, but i'll use the tag here anyways.

My finely honed 90210/Twilight/The Hills/Dawsons Creek drama interpretation skills lead me to the inescapable conclusion that:

1. Young was banging TJ but broke it off, "MORE DRAMA". Lots of little clues about this so far, buried in shitty conversations which is why you probably
missed it.

2. Youngs wife was banging Telford, which is why she bangs him so readily and why he shows up at the end.

3. Its time to introduce some vampires in this show. Teen vampires, with angst. And in a suprise twist, THEY SHOULD SING A LOT TOO. Maybe they came from Planet High School Musical.

If it wasn't for Rush, I'd be shouting from the rooftops for them to give the guy from 200 a go at running this show. I guarantee it would be more watchable than this dreadful excuse for a Stargate show. Even O'Neill looked pissed off he was hoodwinked into appearing it in after losing a drunken bet or something

Like I said before, this show is nothing but a soap opera that should be airing on day time tv. They could call it: Days of our Lives in Space.

I forgot about the clue in the dialog between Young and Emily during this episode, referring to him being stuck on the ship with "her." Which seems to imply that there was an affair going on. (even though she sounded sympathetic, which didn't make sense to me) But what clues were left prior to Earth? Realistically, if they did have an affair, the dialog would certainly NOT be subtle and it most certainly would have been brought up the first time Young visited Emily. Not to mention the several scenes with Young alone with TJ.

Telford was banging Emily? When was that mentioned? I even noticed Telford adjusted his wedding ring after he popped back in to Young's body after being under Emily. Regardless, the way bodies were treated in this episode is insane. If anybody had gotten me drunk against my will I'd be furious, and using somebody's body to fuck is downright criminal. Emily isn't the only one who should have problems with it.

We're not even half a season in and we're already stone fucking people. I don't see how this show is going to not seriously jump sharks very soon just to keep up the pace. BSG looks like a space documentary compared to the believability of this show.

The "surviving against the odds" theme can only last so long before they have to actually see a benefit of being on the ship. After all, Rush said early on and I think it's repeated at the beginning that this ship "is the greatest find evar!!". And yet, so far that is proving to be absolute bupkis.

That was a very fast-forward intensive episode.

I started to get upset about that, but then i realized i couldn't think of anything that wasn't handled in a somewhat retarded way and just let it all go.

I know I gave SG1 and Atlantis shit about finding so many primitive civilizations living in the woods near Vancouver...but at this point it might be nice to actually see a non barren alien world.

I'll be honest, the preview for this episode was better then the actual episode itself. I saw weapons firing and shit blowing up and I made up a far better story in my head then what I saw.

I think I'm just going to do that from now on. Then again every episode is going to be Bigtits McGee and Asian Lady discovering a new ancient sex toy and spending 45 minutes figuring out how it works.

will the next episode to air be the worst one yet? no clue what its about, but I'm going to buck the trend and predict the next one will be better than the ones so far.
