| Frontline (PBS) I've been watching episodes lately on their site. Every episode of the past 3-4 years is available in full online with no commericial breaks. I'd consider one of the best shows on TV. Definately the best serious journalistic documentary show. Just finished watching the show on the current state of the music industry. frontline: the way the music died: watch the full program online | PBS Paints a very clear picture of what went, and what is going wrong, and that illegal downloading is not the killer. They killed themselves. Great TV. |

| they touch on some things that disgust me about music. pop/country music in particular i should say. i suppose it hits all types, but these are the ones i tend to hate the most. every time i turn around it seems like there's some new pretty face singing typical, bland songs. there's nothing special about them. it's like they just fell off the music industry's conveyor belt and started lip syncing away. some of them may have an ounce of talent, but for most if you stuck them in a room to sing without all the assistance it would be like a bad showing of american idol auditions. crosby said something that's always annoyed me as well. a lot of these singers can't play anything (or not well at least) and don't write their songs. they get help from computers to sound better. i'd ask how they manage to live with themselves knowing how shitty they truly are, but they laugh all the way to the bank i guess. +3 Internets | This episode on cyber war is pretty awesome. Its somewhat dated technology-wise now but I remember watching this when it originally aired and a few of the segments I thought were sweet. When they go into the secret us countercyber attack control room and talk about following foreign military hackers thru the computer systems, when they go to one of the big internet backbone locations on the east coast (I think it may have been one of the top level name servers somewhere around Virginia now that I think about it) and the guy who is in charge explains how deep underground it is and how its designed to withstand such and such truck bomb or missile attack. Definitely going to watch it again. Neat geek stuff some of you guys will enjoy if you have 52 minutes to kill.
