If you love the Type-Moon universe, you'll love this. It's a series of movies coming out that's based on one of their older works. There's two out so far and they are fan-fucking-tastic. Top quality animation and really great stories (helps if you know some of the universe's details though).

I just watched the two out today and I thought they were badass - I'm a *huge* Type-Moon fan (especially after playing the Tsukihime and Fate/Stay-Night visual novels).

#2 is a prequel to #1 right? I watched #1 but haven't gotten around to #2 as it finished downloading after I went to sleep.

Yeah. But, I think #1 is best watched first anyways. #3 Also directly follows #2.

And I think it's going to go up to 6?

Yeah, I think so. When does #3 come out? are they once a month or something?

Update: Just looked it up, there are 7 chapters. From the looks of it most of them are out and gg subs is just translating them now? Not sure how accurate the Wikipedia is.

They are being released as movies in Japan, shown in theaters. The just started coming out on DVD in May, and June 25th for the 2nd one. So 3rd DVD maybe out in July?

GG is waiting for the DVDs obviously

I see these are listed as movies on animesuki. Do I need to watch anything before this? I normally hate anime movies, not enough time to build character or flesh out plot for 99% of the shit

Nope, there's nothing you need to watch or read before this. Though it helps if you already know what Shiki's ability is since they don't explain it - it's the same ability that Tsukihime's Shiki has, though it seems without the side effects and a less powerful one than his (plus she can turn hers on and off, while his was perma on).
