Wow, you guys were expecting a lot from a show that's about comic book heroes. I'm sure most of you have read a comic and know what type of crazy shit they put in there all the time.

Now that doesn't mean season 2 was any good, they had a bad/boring storyline with the ebola twins, which seemed disconnected from the heroes universe much like nikki's storyline was for most of the season. Mimic chick was not needed to be included at all. I'm sure they would have played a part in the end of the season, but fuck having to waste all that time on them until then.

Problem with heroes right now I think is there isn't enough super villians to go around. There are bad guys, but most of them like from the company are hidden in the background/dead and not in the forefront of things like Sylar or Ted was. It would be nice to see something like the Sinister Six formed.

The writers strike cutting the whole season in half didn't help either to give them much time to tie up the stories in the end. Season 1 was definitely better, hopefully a full season 3 will bring some wow back into the show. It's still a show about superheroes, not much of those along those lines on tv right now so I'll keep watching.

Sylar needed to stay dead. I like the actor, but the character is completely irredeemable so seeing him repeatedly throughout the seasons will get tiresome quick.

i think the main reason why season 2 was such ass is the company execs hijacked the show by keeping popular characters alive for more ratings and ended up severely compromising the storyline. the plotholes are a good indication of a quick rewrite.

Heroes is probably one of few shows that benefited from the strike. I think, had the season continued as planned, they wouldn't have had enough time to address any of the concerns people had.

3 hour season premier? That has to be a record if it is true. Has any other show in the television of history done 3 hours before? I know 2 hours is pretty standard now a days, but 3 wtf. Maybe they are going to try to suck all the fans that they lost back in by actually having a good intro. I'll check it out.

that 3 hour premiere is probably the leftover of season 2 they didnt get a chance to finish due to the writer strike. then the next week the real season 3 starts up.

No the main reason why season 2 sucked ass is because the talented writers all went off to do their own thing and you were left with Kring fucking it all up.

There's 0 reason to get rid of Sylar or Peter until they both have the ultimate battle in which both are destroyed. The budget for the episode should be at least 5-8 million, k thx.

Think I read ages ago that it's a 1h recap with a standard 2h premiere or something.

I'd think it would start in early to mid September, before most of the other premieres, both because NBC wants the show to get out of their tailspin and an uncontested premiere works to their advantage and because they've had enough time (since November) to work out the scripts and start filming early.

Peter needed to die in the explosion at the end of season 1 as well. He is an inherently, fundementally and irrevocably broken character. He has zero weaknesses other than his subpar intelligence.

Heroes could have been so interesting but they fell face first in to the worst pittraps of the comic books; Time travel, power inflation and ressurection. As long as those elements are in, this show has no chance of recovering.
