The only thing I cant stand about Top Chef is the hard core product replacements.It's like every 15 minutes they mention Glad,Calphon,Uncle Bens rice,etc.

It did'nt use to be like that.In the first couple of seasons they only mentioned Glad.I liked this host beter then the first.The firs host was Billy Joels new wife who is like 20 something.

God watching her host was like watching paint dry.She was so boring.

Dale lost a lot of points acting so childish, if he can redeem himself next week, good, but if not I want to see Richard go all the way.

Speaking of next week, the previews make it look great. People turning each other's burners on high and other devious shennanigans? Yes please.

I was laughing my ass off when Katie was given the "blood line" portion of fish late in the first season. You know that was intentional. No one gave a shit about her opinion, even the Chefs.

The first season was an odd season. They also had people like Candice who hadn't even finished culinary school. But she was a hawaiian tropic model trying to get out of that career, go figure. By the by, she went back to acting and modeling. She's starring in a few local commercials here in SoCal. It sounds like they weren't entirely looking for Chefs in S1. But each season has gotten better. The 2nd was actually the worst imo. They looked more like people who thought they were on the "The Real World", rather than a cooking competition.

They replayed Season 1 last week and my DVR picked it up so I watched it over the weekend. I have to agree that Padma is a way better host than that girl from S1. She is cute as hell but that's about all I can say for her.

Also agree about Ilan or whatever it was from S2 being a retard. Both Sam and Marcel were much better chefs than him. I am still glad he won over Marcel though cause Marcel is a massive douche.

I agree that the overall field this season is probably the best yet, but I also think Hung is still probably the best chef that has ever been on the show, even if he is way too smug about it.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. They seem to do that whole "Someone is cheating!?" promo once a season, and it turns out to be nothing.

This ep pissed me off, they ditched restaurant wars for YET ANOTHER CATERING CHALLENGE? fuck that noise. Their programming/challenges are just terrible this season, they just cater some shitty event every single challenge.

I don't really like restaurant wars. It just seems so gimmicky. Part of it is probably that I'm still pissed about Tre getting sent home last year due to the restaurant challenge when it had very little to do with his cooking.

Yeah, personally though I think it was that Jacobsen guy behind it all. Every chance he got he sold people out. Before they allowed them to "redo" the challenge, he tried getting his host/waiter Malarky eliminated. He was the team leader on that challenge and he picks Tre to be the Exec. Chef? Made no sense. I was thrilled when he was eliminated in the Airline food challenge, with "The worst dish in Top Chef history".

The Restaurant Wars are great as are the mise en place challenge, but if you have too many drama-queens or hacks it doesn't work.

I think the reason they actually ditched restaurant wars this season is because not one team has been overly successful in it. I can only remember a team doing well last season, but on their 2nd attempt. If they would always have to waste 2 weeks to come up with a winner in the challenge, it is a bad challenge. Mis en place and the Blind Taste Test are my favorite challenges. Junk food challenge is stupid. Any challenge where they extremely limit funds or ingredients is interesting.

FUCK I am glad that Nikki is gone. I actually threw up a fist pump.

I just downloaded and watched all of season 4 of Top Chef, good stuff! I usually hate reality TV shows (and make fun of my wife for watching Idol, Dancing, etc) but now Amazing Race and Top Chef will be in my watch list.

I do think they need a little more variety in the challenges, it seems so far just cater-cater-cater. I'd also love to see more challenges that involve food I'd like to make, 90% of what they seem to make are wayyy to involved. Altho I guess thats why its Top Chef and not Schmuck with Grill.

Padme is fucking hot and seems very warm, her mouth does a little scary cat-woman grin sometimes but otherwise what a tasty, spicy dish. I can't believe she was married to Salman Rushdie!

I'm still in awe that bitch had the audacity to use the 'rules are rules' defense for justifying why she should stay. If the judges went only by the rules, her fat ass should have been gone weeks ago.

What the fuck?

She makes a Stir Fry that was steamed vegetables and both burnt and undercooked rice. And I didn't see a fucking wok. Andrew must've really fucked up those sushi's to get eliminated. I noticed he really didn't have any starch in it, and that makes them fall apart. But I still don't get it.

The short-challenge next week looks like a "Line Cook" challenge, that should be pretty cool. They did the same thing in the very first episode in s1. Then it's back to Restaurant Wars. Personally I think though at this stage in the game with only 6 left it should come down to individuals, not teams.
