| A few thoughts: -They need to have that guy Anthony Bourdaine as a guest chef more. The 2 times I saw him on the show it was fantastic television. -I would say my fav season so far was the one with Hung due to the amount of good chefs and strong personalities. -The fact that Lisa made it to final 3 this year and ALMOST won it all was really bad for the fact that she was in the bottom so many times. IMO she didn't deserve to be final 3. -Speaking of Lisa her comment to Blaze and Steph when she was in final 3 was just not called for. She is one cold bitch. - I don't like how some Chefs cry about getting thrown under the bus or called out in at the judges table. It's a game, if I was there I would do whatever it took to stay in the game and win. You got called out and you are pissed off about it? What did you expect when you signed up to play? It is supposed to be a cutthroat competition to become top chef. Stop being a cry baby. I can't imagine some of these people on Survivor. -Speaking of Survivor...Keith was a Chef and a contestant in the Australian Outback, and he could not cook rice for some reason. He really sucked at it. It was so bad that after Survivor was over he wrote a book: "Yes I Can Cook Rice and So Can You". AND in Top Chef there is the same problem, some of these chefs can't cook rice and they keep failing at it week after week. Lisa was so bad at making rice she claimed someone turned the heat up on her stove. Didn't someone keep making that couscous last season week after week and the judges kept telling them that it was bad, and she made it in the finals too? If you can't cook something then cook something else. And how can't you cook rice? They don't teach rice cooking in Chef school? -This season you could tell very early on (almost from the beginning) that the best 2 chefs were Blaze and Steph so you knew they would be in the finals, it wasn't much of a surprise. Although one time I think Blaze couldn't de-scale a fish properly. -The relay race quickfire challenge is my favorite. It is pretty exciting to watch the other contestents react to the current chef that is in the relay. They are all freaking out and cheering on their teammates, it's pretty good tv. -In the restauraunt wars challenge whoever chooses to be the Host always gets a free ride while the Head chef takes all the blame for the loss, and the head chef also gets the prize for winning. Why not just be the Host and make it to the next round in the game, it's like a free immunity, isn't it? I think they need to re-tweak the Rwars. - I liked the addition of wedding wars too but the group challenges are okay when there are 2 or 3 of them total but with too many the bad chefs can survive because their team carried them and at the end there are bad chefs still around because they were lucky to get on good teams. - Finally Padma is so beautiful. How does she eat all that food and keep that figure?

Have to agree on a couple already mentioned points. I was looking forward to some major drama but the reunion didn't deliver. I wonder if everyone developed the mentality that Valerie did when she commented that she hated Antonia during the competition but when she watched it afterwards she didn't have those same feelings...or something along those lines. It felt like a lot of things went unsaid or else what we saw was manufactured drama created by the producers that may have not really existed. I would never have voted for Stephanie as the fan favorite. She wasn't bad but I wanted to see someone with a wilder personality take it. Also glad Nimma got to say at least 5 words. I was wondering how they were going to include her

But on one side you have Tom, a 3-time James Beard award winning Chef. And Tony, who's never won any major award for cooking. He's a great cook with a good restaurant, but he's not known as a Chef. He's a writer, so fun and entertaining comes before quality. He never should've been head-judge in the first place, that's what got Dale sent home. So unless you want to see Lisa's and Miguels as Top Chef, it's probably not a good idea. I like it as a competition and not a reality-show about who can talk the most shit and get away with it. That's Bourdain. edit: My bad, I short changed Colicchio. He's won *5* JB awards. Last edited by Jait : 06-20-2008 at 11:15 AM.

| Yeah, Bourdain is not as accomplished a chef as Collichio. I have read Kitchen Confidential though and it is a hoot. I recommend it for anyone, whether you cook or have worked in a restaurant or not. |

| just saw the reunion ep, good stuff. I agree Collichio + Padma is a winning combo. The other 2 perma judges are meh, they have random ass comments usually. I had no idea it sometimes takes 6-8 hours to judge the eliminations (I assume some of that is producer consultation, camera setups, etc). Thats some crazy ass shit. I am suprised Richard didn't win fan favorite, I bet it was a close vote between him, the crazy guy, and Steph. I watched s3 during s4 (downloaded), and I think the two seasons were about even. the finale in s3 was much better than the s4 finale. The guest judges were slightly better in s3 I think, some of the s4 guests were pretty meh. Anthony Bourdain is awesome though, his No Reservations show is great. For the person who said during rwars being host is safest choice, not true at all. In either s2 or s3 the person who chose host got eliminated, since they only cooked 1 (simple) dish and the front side was bad. Being either host or exec chef is perilous in that case, but if you do either you need to make the dish you cook perfect and you need to make sure you are vocal with the other teammates about how their dish is - so at least if theirs is bad, you can say you tried to tell them. |

+7 Internets | Oh man, that reminds me of the "live judges table" from S3. Padma is gorgeous, but oh god watching her live was just painful. She was so awkward. Good thing she's hot and is marrying herself up the social ladder. |

| I ate at a Chef Tom Colicchio Restaurant in Vegas called Craftsteak. It was located in the MGM Grand and while it was expensive the food was just amazing. I am looking forward to eating there again.
