| Macross Frontier The short and sweet: First episode aired friday; subs should be out eventually. The version of the episode broadcast this week is being perceived as largely inferior in composition and pacing to the "preview" version broadcast in December except for 1 or 2 scenes, sub groups don't seem to be rushing to get this one out as there are already lots of subs available for the December release. This is the first full TV show in the Macross Universe since 1994-1995's Macross 7 and the third series overall, the first series being 1982-1983's Super Dimension Fortress Macross. Macross series and OVAs are few and far between but when they happen they have access to a production budget most other space opera animes would kill for. | If you have'nt watched either the december series preview cut ("deculture edition") or the one that came out on friday watch the deculture edition first. It's a far better version of the episode. Then you can fast forward through the broadcast version for the two added scenes. |

| I just watched the 2nd Episode. The bishounen main character's voice is done by the guy who did Graham Aker! For some reason it sounds different. Anyway. Best looking mecha anime ever or best looking mecha anime ever? |

+2 Internets | Macross Zero still looks better in my opinion but that was the most expensive anime to make per episode if I remember right. Macross Frontier certainly looks great but the amount of detail in Zero is just insane. Basically everyone should watch Macross Zero, even if it is just for the animation. It also has Roy Focker which has to count for something. With the latest episode, I couldn't help but smile after seeing that armored Battroid spam all his missiles. They need VFs irl. | I just watched the preview episode again, it's like they totally changed Sheryl's character in the "real" version. In the preview it seems like her manager is the only bitch. The chase scene into the fleet was just amazing, major movie type shit. Show should be amazing, lots of nostalgia from the VFs as well. |

+2 Internets | Gattai's sub of episode 2 came out like an hour or two ago. They seem to be relatively fast compared to the other groups subbing but they don't bother with any of the music if you care about that. Last edited by Blide : 04-13-2008 at 12:35 AM. |

| I'm not sure if you watched episode 2 yet, but some of the music in the background is vaguely like Macross 7's (on the radio, in the car scene) Just a interesting thing to add in, considering Macross Frontier is chronologically subsequent to Macross 7, a awesome anime series.

+5 Internets | Christ, it's probably been like 7-8 years since I saw uh Macross 7. What was it, uh the crazy singing/guitar macross? Hrm, i'm gonna have to download some mp3's for some refreshers. I'm surprised I even watched it back in the day. Also, the zero comparison is rather unfair =P. It was an ova and they usually have much higher budgets. Zero in particular had a massive budget as you mentioned. The story in frontier may end up being better. |
