Macross Frontier

I don't think anyone was ever calling it the SDF-4, it's the Global 4, and it's just a macross-class ship, basically it was designed to function the same as the original SDF.

#14 was pretty awesome, though it felt sort of rushed and didn't like that everyone was half-revealing their love triangles.

In the fighting, the Quarter was the only Macross-class ship in the field. They brought everything to the field in the battle, if there was another Macross-class ship, I think we would have seen it?

Is Ranka part Varja/part Zentradi? or are Varja somehow related to Zentradi?

I'll be really pissed if Ranka ends up being pregnant.

She's Quarter-Zentran. I think she was experimented on with the Varja during her time on the 117th research fleet.

Might explain why her stomach glows that odd purple sometimes (during songs). Plus when she starts singing in her little egg prison it flashes to some sort of crystal virus? They look "similar" to the crystals on the Vajra that was looking over her.

The other Macross ship was there but they didn't actually field it on the front lines, this was actually one of the few times they've showed it too. It is the pointy portion on the front of the main city ship. Can see a picture here. I admit I've never seen Macross 7 so I'm not sure if there are repercussions from undocking the ship from the city like loss of navigational control or what not. So for some reason in Frontier they've never shown the ship undocked but it is almost certainly there since the Frontier City looks more or less the same as City 7.

The thing I find kind of interesting is how conservative they are in the use of those reactive weapons. When one grunt VF can take out an enemy ship in one shot, I'd be using the reactive weapons a lot more often. I realize they are roughly equivalent to nukes but in space, I wouldn't think it'd matter too much unless reactive weapons work fundamentally differently than a nuke.

Just finished watching episode 15. All I can say is that I really have no idea whats really going on at this point. So many questions and so few answers.

So.... does anyone think they will take an episode someday to answer some of the questions that they are making or will they just keep piling things up? The story is getting pretty convaluted.

Anyway on to my question... how come noone questioned "grace" (sheryls' assistant) on the fact that she survived an exploding planet. Didn't everyone else die?

Exactly what I was thinking Joe. Why did no one ever question Grace about her mysterious return? Weve also seen Richard Bilrer before as well. He had a brief appearance in I believe episode 7 where you see the first Vajra carrier appeared and we first see the Macross transform and also when Leon is talking to him about the Vajra.

So far these are the questions that have been asked but no clear answer for them yet.


Who is Grace and who is she working for? -- So far what we know is that it looks like she's been trying to kill Sheryl to let Ranka take her place or something. She destroyed the first line of defense army and activated the dimensional eater. Shes also Id say 99% cybernetic.

What happened to Brera Stern? -- We can assume from the pictures we saw in the Macross that he is Ranka's brother. However whatever organization that Grace works for obviously saved him from being massacred with the rest of the fleet and turned him into a full cybernetic like Grace.

Why is Macross Galaxy in hiding? -- Felt the full wrath of the Vajra fleet. Still alive with an emergency fold jump. Escaped but presumebly lost in space. We know that Grace, Sheryl, and Brera Sterne all came from this fleet before the attack. No idea what role Galaxy played in bringing the Vajra wrath on the exploration fleets.

Why is Sheryl Nome trying to be killed by Grace? -- Seems like Grace tried to kill her because she was a failed experiement after finding Ranka. Switched blood samples by Grace makes me think something is in her blood that Grace doesnt want found out. We know that Micheal found that pill that Sheryl was supposed to take and is no doubt going to find a link to it and Grace possibly.

What is the importance of Ranka Lee? -- So far with Ranka we can only assume she is possibly a vajra queen at this time. She is the only known survivor of the doomed research fleet and is somehow connected to them. We can assume that since the little pet that Ranka carries with her is a vajra lifeform since a news report said that there were unknown life forms living on frontier killing off other animals. Possibly a future vajra guardian for her? Shes also somehow connected to Doctor Mao from Macross Zero.



Far too many unanswered question. and far too few answers being given out. Hopefully they dont cram all the answers in the final episode.

Grace's plan was to kill Sheryl and the front line of the Macross Frontier's fleet to sow hatred.

As to why no one question how she lived, she told Sheryl at the beginning of Episode 15 she escaped with some other survivors, no one knew her cyborg clone was the one that destroyed the planet.

Wouldn't be surprised if there's a second season, they seem to be all the rage currently. There's Clannad, Slayers Revolution, Gundam 00, Code Geass, and probably a few more.

I do think it is possible to resolve the story in like 10 episodes but I really don't want it to end so soon. Then again, look at what they did with Zero... I almost think they don't want to solve all the mysteries in the Macross universe.

They will definitely be pushing for more Macross shows now that they see how much money they are making off the music and other merchandising. Ranka Lee's VA, who actually does the singing, is gonna become even more popular - this is her first acting job and I don't think she was a singer or anything either...total unknown beforehand maybe?

Shes already performing songs live on talk shows and sounds pretty amazing.
