As of Macross Plus, the SDF-1 was still on Earth and there'd been no mention of it disappearing in 7 or anywhere else so far. Crazy space time distortion? Something happened that we don't know about?

I think I'll go with crazy fucked up space time distortion on Galia-4. Also, that big eye? That TOTALLY has to be connected to Zero's Birdmen.

Will it all come together? Will we know wtf happened to Shin and Sarah? The Megaroad? God I hope so. I wasn't expecting that at all and this series just keeps getting more awesome.

As I understand it, the SDF-1 was confirmed on Earth as recently as 2050 (9 years prior to Frontier but that was in a game which isn't always canon). I think the most likely answer is the SDF-1 left Earth to fight the Vajra or something, probably as a part of that research fleet. The SDF-1 is likely the most powerful ship not attached to a colony fleet except for maybe the Macross Quarter so it'd make sense it was attached to a hastily assembled fleet instead of a New Macross class. The strange thing is that it looks like it has been there a while and why are those Zentradi stationed on a planet with something as significant as that there. The other possibility is that it is a retconned Megaroad which I'm hoping for but honestly doubt since the Megaroad is four times the size of the SDF-1 and cannot transform.

I think Frontier will provide us answers for Zero but not the Megaroad which I wouldn't be surprised if it never gets answered.

Also just to tick off Sheryl fans. It looks like there's going to be a new OP and it is going to be sung by Ranka.

I actually like Ranka's singing voice a bit more than Sheryl's (though the current OP isn't by Sheryl). Sheryl+Alto is definitely a better combo though. Ranka's totally the Minmei of Frontier.

I have mixed feelings over the Bretai/Exodore/Khyron look-alikes. It's a nice tribute, but I really wish they had some unique char design for them.

I thought the WTF's were over Ranka's Song-Bomb, but yeah, that ending was a mindfuck.

Ugh noooo, poor sheryl-chan. Bah, the plot seems to have been favoring ranka from the start ><. Thats probably why I was attracted to Sheryl, you know that Ranka would be getting more and more famous. I've always been the supporter of the one most likely to be brushed aside.

That whole song-bomb isn't too much of a surprise since this is Macross. At least it's not song based combat (like macross 7).

I never watched the very first series though, so I don't know how crazy it is for them to find the original fortress macross. I kind of want to though since I've seen most of the series' that came after. (edit after reading blide's spoiler i guess it is crazy).

What was the convo in Zentradi before the opening about? The concert was part of a deal between the Khyron clone and the Breetai clone to not revolt?

What I got from the Episode 12 is that the Sheryl's assistant and the Corrupt Military guy who knows more than what he lets on are working together. It seems like they instigated the riot on Gallai 4. You see the Khyron clone talking to someone over his head set who tells him that Alto is on the run for his plane. Who else would have known that except for Sheryl's assistant.

We also know that the Corrupt Military guy is most likely responsible for Hybrids on the station that are killing the wildlife that was mentiond earlier in the news reports. It may be connected to the Ranka's new pet in that it may be a Vajra lifeform thats not yet fully evolved.

Next week should be a very very interesting episode.
