Anime: Spring/Summer '08

Figured I'd start this one since a lot of the Fall/Winter Animes are over or ended this weekend.

Anime Preview: Spring 2008 « Undercover

As for myself; Macross Frontier and Code GEASS R2 are must sees. I'll probably also follow Vampire Knight. The "maybe" pile is: Special A,Toshokan Sensou, Itazura na Kiss, Kamen no Maid Guy after I see how well they're made and if they're interesting at all...

As for Summer. Months away but worth mentioning Zero no Tsukaima 3 = must see.

This season looks extremely promising. First Kaiba is directed by the guy that did Kemonozume, which is just about my favorite show from the past couple years. Definitely looking forward to that. There are a couple other sci fi type shows (RD, Himitsu) that I think look OK and I will be sure to give them a try. On top of that there are a few comedy shows that look like they are going to be great, on the top is Kyouran Kazuko Nikki but there are others.

Overall, looks pretty good.

Looking forward to Code Geass 2, Macross, and yes, Kamen no Maid Guy for sheer hilarity factor.

2008 is a great time to be a mecha fan, that's for sure. Also 2 CLAMP shows this season if you count Code Geass R2 which I don't think has happened before. I need to get around to watching xxxHolic so I can watch season 2. I'm personally not sure on a lot of the other stuff this season but I'll be the first to admit that there are a ton of good animes that fall below my radar and outside of the genres that I normally watch that turn out to be very good. Like for instance I normally skip most high school and slice of life type stuff but I'm really enjoying Clannad for some reason. Been watching it for the last few days and still can't really put my finger on why I like it so much, there's just some charm to it.

Code Geass R2
Macross Frontier
Vampire Knight

Will also watch the 2 good fanservice shows just because Rosario+Vampire is over

Kanokon 01 is out and it's definitely putting Rosario to shame with both the fanservice and having... an actual plot. Last two episodes of Rosario were the only ones with any substance whatsoever, so if Kano can hit three it's an improvement.

P.S. Girls are learning far too quickly that they have weapons against boys, this show reflects that.

Rosario+Vampire has a good story, they just decided to introduce all the main characters in the first season, and only did the first story arc from the manga. 2nd Season should be better.

The R+V manga is awesome.

If anyone was curious, the broadcast version of Macross Frontier episode 1 is slightly different from the preview version that came out in December. They added and a removed a couple scenes. Concert being extended over a longer battle for the lose. Overall the changes are pretty minor.

The preview version is superior though since it is over 5 minutes longer.

This.

I'm intrigued by Kamen no Maid Guy, it looks like it could be a good comedy, gonna wait on the sub before watching, though.
