+25 Internets | Writer's Strike : DGA signs new contract I guess this is the start of the third and hopefully final phase of the writer's strike. With the DGA signing a new contract, there's a good chance that the studio will begin negotiations with the writers again soon. The long history of pattern bargaining means that the DGA contract will probably act as a template for what the studio expects the contract with the writers to be, though wether the writers accept that or not is another matter. the DGA facts : The Directors Guild of America some writers opinions of the deal will be found on craig mazins site: The Artful Writer |

+10 Internets | This is great great news for the WGA and really, anyone in the business and in any of the guilds. When all is said and done the WGA should be getting what they asked for and MORE if they push for higher residuals to match or come in just under what the DGA asked for on downloads/dvd etc... |

+25 Internets | the history of pattern bargaining means that its more then likely the writers will get at least the same as the DGA. In theory they could stay on strike in order to try and get more, but I don't think anyone would want to see that happen, including most writers. The main sticking point is most likely the issues that the writers have that isn't covered by the agreement that the DGA has, such as jurisdiction over Reality TV writers. |

| I was watching Letterman the other day and that Julia Dryfus chick was on there talking about the strike. I guess she's a goes to the protests alot. Dave asked her when do you expect to get back to work. She says within the month. So this is all good news.

| No 24 till Fall almost certainly. They don't want to break its 24 episodes in a row gimmick. Tv Guide Magazine said that if its signed pretty soon, the studios can probably pump out 3-4 episodes. The big rumor I heard is that the studios might break tradition and go for a full-on summer season. |

| I just hope the writers never come back to Conan's show. It's been absolute gold since they've been on strike.

+17 Internets | Yeah Stewart, Colbert and Conan all proved they are completely funny on their own without writers.
