BSG: Season 4

Since like the 5th episode of the series when she got lost and they did the whole "get our pilot" back thing.

Series is really going out on a whimper at this point.

Pretty sure that this will all tie into the fact they are sitting ontop of a black hole. Something wonky like they are in groundhog day type of effect and that's why it's all about the cycle and will happen again, etc. Although the spoilers going around say something different:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

* Most of the crew volunteers for the suicide mission.
* The plan is to use Galactica as bait while a small team (including Athena and Helo) infiltrate the Colony using a Heavy Raider (Galactica doesn't just jump in and start shooting - there's a good chance that Hera will be killed if Galactica and co. jump right in and just start shooting).
* A massive fight ensues. Galactica gets the hell knocked out of it. The Cylons take the ship, and they're about to take out Adama and Tigh in CIC until they meet some unexpected resistance from Gaius Baltar. Baltar is critically wounded.
* At the Colony, Boomer betrays Cavil and hands Hera over to Athena, though Helo is wounded (and possibly killed).
* Boomer and the Guardians (who turn on Cavil because he's going to dissect Hera) turn off Cavil's control over the Centurians and Raiders - but Boomer dies by Cavil's hand.
* The freed Raiders and Centurions recognize what Cavil has done to them, and, more importantly, that Anders is piloting Galactica, and so they stop attacking the humans and turn on Cavil.
* Another massive fight ensues. Cavil and co. are destroyed, but Galactica is crippled.
* The fleet jumps to the sight of the battle to evacuate Galactica.
* The Raiders and Centurions feed Anders the location of a habitable world that Cavil knew of, then leave forever. Anders feeds the fleet the coordinates and everyone jumps there, though the strain of jumping the shattered Galactica kills Anders.
* Roslin dies aboard the ruins of Galactica. Adama stays with her, alone on a dead ship. Baltar dies on the new planet...which he dubs Earth.
* Hera reveals that Daniel survived, after a fashion, and that he's been guiding his loved ones as best he can through projection. Starbuck and Baltar are his children (and yes, eat your heart out, smooching Luke and Leia from ESB, the original Starbuck DID have sex with her brother); and Daniel plugged into Roslin after she took on Cylon blood.
* After Apollo runs around in a lush field shooting his gun into the air like a maniac, he and Starbuck embrace.
* Flash forward to thousands of years later. The setting: the planet the humans and Cylons settled, specifically, NYC. "All of this has happened before...."

I agree that this is going to be insanely rushed next week. It's too bad these last 3-4 eps have been mostly so slow.

Last episode was really kind of disappointing. A lot of information that really didn't even need to be shown (the flashbacks) since there have been - as far as I'm aware - no episodes that even speak of them. I think the only flashback that was mildly interesting was Adama's and Starbuck's.

I thought it was emotionally amazing when Roslin came out, wobbling, to the side that planned on going. I think that had to of been the best scene.

Doesn't make sense, didn't we just meet Baltar's father? Would be rather stupid to just introduce his father in this episode and then say Daniel was his father the next.

Well I'm not totally sold those spoilers are legit, but the preview for next week does seem to indicate that at least some of the Dorals/Cavils make it to the CIC.

Will really miss this show, despite how it appears to be ending. I feel like I am more along for the ride though as it ends, instead of anxious to see how it resolves.

Just feels like so much less anticipation compared to the Season 2 -> Season 3 break... I couldn't get enough of the Nickelback commercials, and most of their songs all just make me think of BSG now.

I thought the episode was awesome, it really was a nice way to "wrap up" some of the characters -- we've seen the trials and tribulations of Baltar, Roslin, Lee, Adama, etc and its cool to see some of the stuff that happened to them before the world ended.

I wonder who Roslin was going to see on a date, didn't really catch the name - Sean something? Where did Adama have to go for an hour? The scene of Lee chasing a pigeon seemed pretty pointless though, should have cut that and shown more of Six/Baltar.

I agree the end is going to disappoint no matter what, they just have too much left unexplained -- head Six/Baltar, who the Lords of Kobol are, how did the centurions "find God", who wrote the prophecies and why, the relationship between centurions and skinjobs, hybrids, etc. I'm guessing the only plot lines really that get resolved are what is Hera about, what happens to the fleet/BSG, and who Starbuck is. Could have used the previous 2-3 episodes to delve into that stuff more, but whatever, I really liked this episode a lot. It would have been a nicer segue into a finale if the previous episodes were stronger though.

I can understand some people being pissed about them introducing new characters (Roslins sisters, Baltars dad) and not dealing with plot lines stretching back years, or with the constant "emo reversals" like Adama deciding to rescue Hera. I think its just a case of them not really planning out the beginning, end, and middle and just wanting to make fake heartbreak/drama, but whatever, as long as they have a good space battle, centurions kicking ass, and some resolution to the story arc I'll be happy.

edit: btw anyone else notice how weird the colony looked, I thought it was from Babylon 5 or Farscape!

Wow I can't believe only 1 episode left. I think this is the only multi-season show on TV I've followed every episode from beginning to end. I really don't care how they end is as long as the don't completely mess it up and I'll be satisfied overall I think.

RDM mentioned that by the season's end, we will discover the nature of the Head Six/etc. So next episode will finally answer that. Although in a way, they've kinda hinted at what they are. The last episode had Baltar mentioning that the angels would take the guise of someone close to the person (Six/Balar, Kara's Dad/Kara, Adama's wife/Adama...although Adama's was more internal).

There's also supposed to be resolution on the Opera House and who's behind the scenes effecting things.

All these loose ends give me the impression they are setting us up for BSG 2-hour specials. Not a bad thing overall, but I had hoped they would give us more answers.

I have a bad feeling that this may end up the way Stephen King ended the Dark Tower series. He gets to the end, goes through, and ends up where the first book began. If that happens, I may just have to choke a bitch.
