I'm leaning towards the big eye that Starbuck flew into as being some kind of wormhole. It shoots out near Jupiter/Saturn, which is why Starbuck talked about a giant gas planet with rings. Hence the Eye of Jupiter. So the Eye isn't showing the direction they need to go in, but where they actually need to go. Also why she wants to stay close to that location.

Does not explain how she got a brand new, off the assembly line viper. Or how she rejoined the fleet. That gas giant she "died" at was easily a handful of FTL jumps from the nebula; Viper's dont have FTL drives.

Don't they? Then how did Kara make it back to Caprica in Season 1 - I thought she said she could jump back that far in her Viper...unless she took a raptor?

It was a raptor. This begs the question why Adama doesn't allow her and a team to take one now and find earth with it.

Well, Adama simply doesn't trust her at the moment. For all he knows, letting Kara go back to wherever she came from (he doesn't trust that she was really found Earth) could be a disaster.

The 7 don't know who the 5 are but know they exist and have been programed not to think about them. The raiders and I think the basestars are able to recognize the 5 and that's why they retreated. So who really controls the basestars and raiders? The 7 or some unknown force that predates the chrome toasters and the 7?

I'm sure that Kara is not cylon. If I remember correctly, the original series had some god-like white beings and they brought Starbuck back to life. I think who ever brought Kara back, with a new viper and all will be similar to these white beings from TOS.

Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Yeah, I'm toying with the idea that the 13th tribe were the early cylons and probably played a role in the Caprican cylon development (which I guess is the Adama family?). It fits in with the cycles theme of the series, and also helps explain how Tigh and everyone else could be cylons.

Wouldn't the 13th tribe had to have had advanced tech to have made it as far as they did that early in their history? Not to mention how the records of their voyage made it back to the 12 colonies.

I watched the premier again today. Did anyone else notice something odd about the woman Baltar was with when he was attacked in the head? She was acting completely different than the other followers since she was first shown in the episode. She appears to know a whole lot more than she should considering how she was carrying herself. I oddly got a vibe that she was Baltar's imaginary Six in corporeal form.

I noticed she was acting different towards him. I took it to mean that maybe she thought he wasn't all that the other followers made him out to be. Whatever it is, there was something different with her.

Then how did Kara make it back to Caprica in Season 1

The gutted cylon raider, which still had a FTL.

Later on they returned with Raptors.

So correct me if I am wrong because it has been years since I have watched the original series but didn't Starbuck or Apollo or both of them together get help from a time traveler? Maybe that is how Starbuck got a brand new viper.

I get a strong feeling there will NOT be any time travel in this version of BSG.
