| Yeah I was confused by Cavil for awhile also, then it made sense that he realized everything was fucked. Doral (I think) just deciding to start shooting was pretty dumb though. I didn't know if it was just me drinking or the writing that made everything seem like it was jumping around a whole lot, but after reading everyone else's complaints I guess the writing actually was really disjointed. |

+49 Internets | As has been stated, once Tori died, Cavil knew the secret to Res tech was lost forever. Since at that point he realized that "pure" Cylon extinction was inevitable, he just decided to take an express route. Very in character for him, and I laughed for about a minute straight after he went "FRAK!" *BLAM* Overall I thought it was a solid episode. Kudos for the Old School Centurions vs. the new ones.

+69 Internets | This show isn't for poopsockers with ADD. Which is most of the complainers. This show was always an allegory, a mythology play set in space. Which is exactly how it ended, and why the ending was awesome. Negative capability. Google it.

| I'm surprised everyone was disappointed in the Head 6/Baltar ending. How else could it end? Except for fleshing it out more. I agree that them basically popping up and being like hey guys! and stopping there was lame. But if you had a problem with religious stuff in the show then now is a silly time to bring that up. |

+19 Internets | I enjoyed it overall. Anyone not expecting heavy religious tie ins at this point were just setting themselves up for disappointment. That said, the hippie ending was sort of baffling. I mean, sure hate technology all you want but to go completely fucking old school and fuck around with natives and shit? It was a pretty big fucking stretch. I also thought it was kind of silly how they picked out new admirals/presidents. It's like the title doesn't even mean shit at this point, so here ya go Gaeta's lover and crazy lawyer! Oh well.

+71 Internets | I guess I'm one of the few that loved it that he shot himself in the ultimate "I can't fucking take it anymore!" moment. He had the possible key to his continued existence right in his hands and he gave it up for a sure thing, only to have it taken away from him by fate. (Man that owned) He had no escape, he was dead one way or the other. Remember, Cavil HATED his entire existence. He hated being stuck in that human body. Yet like any of us he didn't want to die, either. When death became inevitable, why go on? It seemed pretty spot on to me. As for Kara, well, can you think of anything better? Flying off into the sun with Anders works but doesn't explain a thing. Disappearing at least makes it pretty damn clear that she was no cylon or clone. Her and Lee could have walked off into the sunset hand in hand, but also says nothing about her return from the dead. So, poof, she was an agent of God sent to guide them to their end. My only problem with that is I don't believe in God in the slightest, but even I can put that aside for a TV show featuring sentient robots. Going native - they ran for their lives for four years inside of metal boxes, they just want to die in peace in their paradise. They just wanted it all to end. (see Dee) And they didn't all scatter in 1's and 2's, most split into large groups. They really should have made it more obvious and made it 12 groups. Bam, 12 colonies spread across the Earth to ensure survival, just like before. Yeah, it's a hippie ending, but after what they have endured it seems pretty plausible that the idea of the Simple Life would be easy to sell. By the time they start regretting it they will be too busy concentrating on simple survival anyway. Last edited by Kreugen; 03-21-2009 at 11:56 AM.. |

| Heh, that was one of my thoughts about Lee's statement that he wanted "to explore!" Start "exploring" for lunch asshole. You didn't bring any guns with you? Hope you don't get "explored" by any predators. Would have been funny to see a leopard take out Hera while she was running through the pampas too. |

| Its fucking bad writing no matter how you look at it. Can you explain WHY so much of the show was about preserving their culture and their democracy and then have it all resolved by them becoming bush people long before civilization ever formed? Obviously they gave up on all that, which makes no sense because it was so central to the plot of the show. It was all about protecting freedoms and democracy in the face of complete annihilation.

| The use of the original BSG theme when the fleet was heading out really choked me up in a serious way.

Was it the perfect finale? No. Could it ever have been? No. I doubt anyone on the planet could write a finale to this show (or any show that needs more than three brain cells to appreciate) that would please the vast majority of an audience. Some of the events were surprising, some were perplexing but none were out of the realms of possibility (to me anyway) for what would happen. I do note one thread in common with all the ragers, not one of them has suggested a "better" finale and probably never will. The poopthrowers get too much pleasure from throwing shit to do anything constructive most of the time. Personally, I've always been a Baltar fan and whilst he stumbled a little this season I thought they managed to complete his character fairly well. From the brief words of encouragement from Lee, the banter from Adama "and the boys" when studying the tribal humans and the final excellent scene in the field with Caprica, he had a good finale and found some of the redemption he had been seeking all along. Anyways, waiting for the extended dvd set.
