I honestly have to say they couldn't have ended the show much better, and I get what RDM meant by when he said, "It's the characters, stupid."

I don't care enough to go back and check, but it seemed like they added the extra 11 minutes to add about 7 more in commercials.

This was better the 2nd run through, if you have a chance, or a loved one who hasn't seen it yet to watch it with (wife will be sniffly for an hour i bet), do watch it again.

I think the problem is the fact that 8 of the past 10 episodes where complete filler with no action or anything going on. That and the fact they never properly planned this thing out. I mean, wasnt their dozens and dozens of Cylon baseships out there? What happened to them? What happend to Kera being the "harrold of the apocalypse"? What happened to Hera being the savior of the cylons and humans?

Too many questions left unanswered for my taste. I know they where shooting for closure on the characters themselves instead of the story, but even there they had some blank spots.

The ending was weak. The firefight was great, but the lack of answers on several topics was a flat cop-out. They can scream characters at the top of their lungs, but they left a lot of loose ends about their glorious characters. And I've never liked the religious tie in, ever. It never means anything other than to provide for unexplained miracles steering the crew in the right direction. The sci fi genre doesn't need religion coming in and saying magic is OK.

The whole episode with Starbuck playing the piano was fantastic. They could have taken that somewhere, but they let it fizzle. It's a pointless speedbump in the story. They didn't want to answer the many questions revolving the show and think being mysterious about it looks good. They're called plot holes, and they inhabit bad stories. I think they put a dent in their legacy with this syrupy goodness of a prolonged happy ending.

Urgh. Kara disappearing, just urgh. Wasn't really a fan of the finale, a lot of it was very stilted stuff and the only real moment that I "gave a shit" was when Baltar mentioned he knows about farming.

How the fuck did they know the name of the sun when they haven't even named earth yet. They should have referenced it as a star. /boggle

The last 40 minutes dragged for me. Rest of the episode was phenomenal. Tying everything up felt like a Family Guy episode where they just come up with something stupid to end the episode in 2 minutes they have left. Hai Guys! It's all cause of God that this shit happened! Bye!

Kara ending was weak.

Cavil offing himself was weak and pointless and a complete 180 on his charachter.

While the firefight and Galactica kicking ass and taking names was great, it felt like it was the only part that did. Everything else felt so rushed and left so many loose ends to tie up that it was "ok" but it could have been great.

The whole mitochondrial eve thing requires that the woman have two daughters and the line survive. So maybe the other 38,000 people (half of whom are women, possibly?) didn't have lines that survived because eventually their daughters died? Over 150,000 years it is possible. I often wonder what beautiful variations on the human race died out during harsh times by random chance, leaving us with the current variety of blacks, crackers, and chinks.

I still cannot wrap my head around it. Hey, we just survived the big battle and a 4 year journey looking for a suitable planet... let's give up hot showers and medicine and go on a permanent camping trip and fuck some cavemen? I've never been on a spaceship for an extended period of time, but I don't think the sudden influx of fresh air and sunshine would make me go hippie in a snap.

Add to the fact there's an entire set of disease they aren't immune too. That 38,000 would dwindle to almost nothing very quickly.

surely -internets incoming for me but one of the worst collapses of a season of a television show I've ever seen. The best analogy I can think of is this season 4 of a show felt like it was season 10. Horrible season, horrible conclusion to a show I enjoyed until now. The Kara "ending" was insultingly bad.

So, 150,000 years later they find Hera's bones but nobody in those 150k years found 1 Raptor, Viper or shuttle that they used to land on the planet?

As I said earlier: Anyone who liked this ending is retarded. You have bad taste. You are attempting to deceive yourself. This shit was bad.
