That was the best blindside I seen in a long damn while. Eliza was cracking me up over on the bench. They did a great job editing it and when Jeff read the 4th Jason vote I was like "son of a bitch, they wussed out again" but no. Ozzie and Amanda both looked stricken and I think Eric was pretty shocked too. Personally I think Parvati is playing an awesome game. Usually people don't carry a grudge in their final vote. Just look at Todd last season. He was the biggest weasel on the tribe but in the end people had to admit he played a good game and they voted for him. If Parv can get to the end with Alexis and Natalie my money would be on her to win. Cerie thought of the idea, but it was Parv that really had to show some stones to go through with it. We'll see how it works out for her but I think the Parvati/Alexis/Natalie alliance can be money in this game.

What was with the crossed fingers though? What are these people in 3rd grade? Lying is expected on survivor. It's a game.

James laughing at somebody else for dumping their bucket and then doing it himself like .8 seconds later was hilarious.

I thought Jason was a dumbass for quitting out after all that time, but if you think about it, one immunity win and 3 more days on the island when you're still gonna be on the chopping block at the next TC isn't really that much better than getting voted out this week. Might as well try to get some people on your side even if it does mean you might go home today instead of at the next challenge. He had to know he wasn't going to win every immunity challenge and without any friends that was his only hope to get to the end. I mean he IS a dumbass, but I can see where that move makes some sense.

At this point though, there is nothing to be gained by voting Jason out except for his immunity monster status. He would actually be an awesome person to go to F3 with since pretty much the whole tribe dislikes him.

The only times I've really seen evidence of James standing out in challenges are the ones where it requires pure strength. Unfortunately for him, those challenges are the rarity. When it comes to things like speed, swimming, memory, etc., he's really no better than anyone else. That's why, in last night's challenge, I would've picked Erik ahead of James. Erik has shown he's a good swimmer, which was far more important than strength in the challenge.

But, I agree on Parvati. She now potentially has three or four people (Ozzy, Amanda, James, and possibly Erik) who feel she's backstabbed them. It's possible some of those will still vote for her based on being outwitted (I think Ozzy takes things far too personally to do so; others might), but she's currently the least likely to win.

with james it's not only that he dominates the physical challenges, but the overall package he presents, physically as well as mentally/socially.

-he's integral to getting shit done around camp
-he's a great survivalist in the outdoors
-he's mentally stable
-he's an great guy

does anyone doubt he would win if he ever made it to the final three?

the only weakness i can see is that he's too trusting but that's a part of his genuine nature.

it's why he went out last time holding two idols.

i honestly can't imagine a better overall 'survivor'.

and that is why I love James. He is by far not one of the best Survivor players but he does have heart and overall he owns everyone.

Wow what a blindside. Some fucking douchebag ruined the show for me by posting on CBS (Btw NEVER look below the video ever or you will get spoiled).

However, it did not ruin it at all.

Ozzy will take it personally and he is very charismatic. He will talk to the Jury and they will all agree on Pavoritti. It will not be a Todd situation. I promise you she signed her death warrant.

I do not like Cirie at all but she is playing a great game. Never once thought she wasn't, I just hate that shit.

James Erik Amanda are underdogs...I will root for them I guess

You know, as funny as it was that Jason believed the fake idol to be real, or for Eliza playing it anyways, Ozzie has to be one the dumbest people not to play the idol this week after it was revealed he had it. The fake idol wasn't even his trick in the first place.

I mean did he really think he was that safe and that his own alliance wouldn't think to vote him to get rid of the idol? How long did he expect to go without having to use it? I could understand if it was still two tribes, but now it's everyone for themselves stage, no point keeping him to help the "tribe". And then to see him and James laughing at Jason(who was an idiot for trusting those people) but the last laugh was on Ozzie.

Yeah, Ozzie got owned pretty hard, but he was the first to admit that it was all his fault at the end of the episode when he comments on getting voted out. Just bad playing by him.

I have only watched 3 seasons of Survivor, the first one, and the last two. Has anyone used a HII effectively? It seems like once people know you have it you are definitely gonna get blindsided. If I found one I wouldn't tell one person about it.

In Survivor: Guatemala, Gary found the one hidden in the tree and played it.
In Survivor: Exile Island, Terry found it but never played it.
In Survivor: Cook Islands, Yul found it but never played it.
In Survivor: Fiji, Alex played it (but Edgardo was booted so it was re-hidden). Yau-Man played it and saved himself eliminating Stacy. I think Earl played his at final 5 since there was no reason not to.
In Survivor: China, James kept both of his and was booted, which removed them from the game as a result.
In Survivor: Micronesia, Ozzy was in possession of it when booted, didn't play it, I assume it's out of the game for good if the rules from previous seasons have stayed the same.

So, only Yau-Man has ever used a HII effectively to save himself from elimination.

Of course, Jaime in China and Eliza in Micronesia played "fake" idols. Great hilarity ensued. Jeff throwing Jaime's fake (the one Yau made) into the fire after she played it at Tribal remains one of my all-time favorite Survivor moments. =)

You gotta be smart with the HII and hide it after you find it and also not tell others that you have it. The people that got voted off with it were known to have it and were percieved as major threats because they had it. You can't keep it hidden in your bag cause some people will search through it. What you must do is hide it somewhere and act like you never found it. Never tell a single person and maybe even make up a story that you think someone else found the idol because you searched like hell for it and found nothing.

I don't remember the details, but even though Yul didnt use his immunity idol in tribal council, i think he did tell some people about it which helped his strategy. He then went on to win, easily outplaying and outsmarting everyone else. He played one hell of a game but i think it gets overlooked because it worked so damn well and he appeared to just walk through the game.

Yeah, Yul pretty much blackmailed Jonathan into voting with them during one episode. Yul revealed that he had the idol to Jonathan and told him Yul's alliance would write down Jonthan's name and play the idol unless he sided with them. That ultimately gave Yul's alliance control of the game, leading to his win.

That might've been one of the reasons the rules of the hidden immunity idol were changed. Now it's a lot more up in the air as to whether or not you should use it. Prior to that, the people with the idol had a lot more power since they could just hang onto the idol until they knew they needed to play it.

And it's amazing how often you see the person with the idol become the immediate target, yet everyone practically chooses to broadcast it from the mountaintops when they find it. Like this season, Ozzy originally said he was just going to keep it to himself, but minutes later he's showing it off to Amanda, Parvati, and James.

Seriously sometimes I wonder if people actually watch the shows. I could write a book on Survivor Do's and Don't's called Survivor 101. Some things are obvious but yet players still do them every season. One exmple is to never tell anyone that you have the HII but other things are just as bad like what Ozzy also did last episode. After they won the reward challenge, Ozzy told the people who lost and were starving all about their feast and the roasted pig, the lobsters, banana pancakes, 4 or 5 different types of chicken, and so on. That right there pissed Pavariti and the other people off. Pavariti called him "Such a little brat". Seriously why tell starving people all about the great food that you just ate they are going to hate you. There are millions of do's and do nots for Survivor but every year there are people that do that same dumb ass things. Also the HUGE mistake is that people actually start trusting their alliance and stop playing the game and get comfortable. Ozzy got comfortable and stopped playing, this happens all the time and when people get cocky or too comfortable that is usually when they are going home. Do not stop playing the game and always keep your ears open. Everyone is playing the game to win a million dollars so never, never trust your alliance 100% just like the XFiles Trust no one, you have to be ready at all times and have a 2nd plan so do not just be friendly with your alliance befriend everyone. AND NEVER NEVER give up an immunity challenge for food you dumbasses, immunity is the most valuable thing in the game until the million dollar payout. 3 chocolate covered doughnuts are not worth $1 million.

In Ozzy's defense, he said in an interview afterwards that he has bad shoulders from surfing and knew he wasn't gonna win that challenge. He was about ready to drop anyway so he took the donuts. That's what he claimed anyway.
