+11 Internets | I'd like to see public support for the writers, maybe folks could stay home instead of going to the theaters. The only time my tv gets used these days is when football is on or when the kids want to watch one of their shows. If I am given an online alternative for kids shows and football, my tv bill will go the way of the dinosaurs. Here's hoping that people put the hurt on the industry until they learn to share the wealth with the writers. |

| This makes those piracy commercials, on dvds, oh so ironic. Here is a commercial telling us to think about the little guy, the painter, the make-up artist, the peons who will lose out on jobs and money if we pirate. I think some people should follow their own advice, because I am pretty sure this strike will cost them more then internet piracy. |

| At this point i dont care what the hollywood bigwigs do to end this strike. either cave and give the writers whatever they want or just assassinate a dozen top writers as an example to the rest not to fuck around with mother hollywood. 24 and Lost is a bust for 2008, where will it end? |

| I'm pretty sure this is a giant conspiracy to silence the leftwing media. Stewart, Colbert and the rest of the late night crew being off the air has been nothing but a positive for the right-wing agenda moving into the election season.

+13 Internets | Actually, the writers for Heroes should be analy raped with bowling pins, replaced and summarily executed. Not necessarily in that order. The rest of the writers have my sympathy though.

| this is great for video games! keep on striking! ![]() baseball had a huge strike a few years ago, many predicted the death of baseball yadda yadda. Few years later its stronger than ever. While many of us would love to see a "TV revolution" with less ads, better quality, more display choices (portable devices/internet/shifted timeslots/etc) all that stuff is gonna happen, it'll just take a long, long time. I bought my first Tivo I think 10 years ago now and even still market penetration is tiny of DVRs, which is crazy considering how utterly brilliant DVRs are. Whether its six months, one year, or two years from now TV will be basically back to the same system its been in the past 20 years - scheduled slots, commercials, nielsens, etc. Hopefully some minor incremental changes (more youtube, mark cuban hdnet, etc) will blossom. |

+11 Internets | I was listening to the radio and heard that one of the big networks (NBC I think) was forced to pay back the advertisers due to not meeting a ratings quota. Should TV remain craptastic long enough, I'm guessing this kind of thing could bring enough pressure on the networks to offer up a better deal. I'm willing to wait a year or two for South Park, Family Guy and Reno 911 to come back on if it means all the channels are showing nothing but reality tv that turns folks off of tv completely. I'd rather have quality shows or nothing at all, than the crap that makes it onto so many channels nowadays. |

| Honestly the stuff they have been showing lately has been crap.. A few hit series here and there but thats about it. Besides HBO and How its Made there not much else to watch on tv.. (Ok Ok i'm a CSI and law and order fan but those have 19,829,482 reruns that i haven't seen so im all good) I'm telling you all that one day while these guys are bickering someone is gonna come up with a better idea and put it on up the internet and then all hell is gonna break loose... |
