Stargate Atlantis: Season 4

Just a reminder that Atlantis starts up again this Friday.

It will be strange with Weir gone. She looks like she could be Kari Sweet's mother, and if you frequent the PGT, you know I likey that.

I do wish they would finish off one set of bad guys before introducing another set. First the Wraith and now the human replicators. What's next? Froglocks in space?

Weir was just...I dunno. It was like she sucked the charisma from the environment. It was like she was trying to play General Hammond, but with a female perspective...and it just fell flat.

Besides, Carter + Rodney = gold.

I liked Weir, but Carter & Rodney > everything.

Also this year will have Jewel Staite who played Kaylee in Firefly/Serenity who is damn hot. I couldn't stand Weir personally, I just thought it never made sense for her to be in charge.

I really enjoyed the third season finale/cliffhanger. Atlantis is probably the show I'm looking forward to the most this season. I realize it's stupid sci-fi, but the geek in me enjoys the hell out of the space battles and techno-babble.

Is Weir gone for good? I don't really remember the season finale, arent they all stuck in space or something... don't really remember her leaving even.

Are they gonna do the retarded thing and let the UK/Canada air the shows months before the US again? I ended up downloading episodes and watching them on my PC last year because of that.

Weir will appear in 4 episodes this upcoming season, although 1 or 2 will be minor parts. Mid-season finale will air on December 7th and it's speculated, but unconfirmed, that Sci Fi will continue running the second half in January after the holidays. That's a big step in the right direction since there was a 7 month break between halves last season.

Not worth watching. There is no music or sound effects...just the voices.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The Apollo launches an initial nuclear strike against the Replicators since they build actual cities and ships rather than using replicator blocks. In retaliation they send a beam weapon satellite to attack Atlantis directly. Because the city was left with only one ZPM, the shields will last against a sustained assault for a limited time. After submerging the city does little to slow down the shield drain, they're forced to take more drastic measures.

The mobile drilling station (From "Submersion") is hooked up to Atlantis to power the star drive while the X302s tow an asteroid to block the beam's path in order to buy enough time for the city to reach orbit and enter hyperspace. The plan works up until the last seconds when the weapon cuts through the asteroid and strikes the middle of the city as they escape. Dr. Weir was in the stargate control room when the blast hit and is presumed dead or critically injured. The damage to the city causes the star drive to give out and stops short of it's destination. Atlantis is left adrift in between solar systems and all remaining power is failing rapidly.
