Shows That Deserved Another Season

After reading the 'shows that never get old' thread, I thought about a couple of shows I would have liked to list, but watching a single show (that only consisted of one season) over and over again.. it does get old.

*My So-Called Life: This was show was truly great. I believe it and Friends both aired at their first (and for this, it's only) seasons at the same time. The ratings were completely defeated. Anyways, they put the series on The-N/Nogin about two years ago, and have replayed it over and over. I caught myself watching it almost every night :/

*Grounded For Life: I loved every character from this show. The mom was unrealistic, but the dad and brother pull off great scenes together. I'm not sure if this was cancelled or what, but I loved it. It currently airs on ABC Family in the evening.

*Radio Free Roscoe: This show originated in Canada and lasted for about two seasons. It aired on The-N/Nogin along with other Canadian shows (Degrassi, Instant Star) but the story line couldn't hold for too long. Four kids produced their own radio show every day after high school. It could have at least gone through all four years.. shrug.

That's enough from me. List some more shows!

West Wing.

I mean, the story was done. But I loved the show anyway.

1 season shows that needed more
Undeclared
Berserk
Freaks & Geeks
Justice - corny and over the top but entertaining and would've kept watching at least another season.

other shows that needed more
Extras (not sure if season 2 is for sure the final, but <3 this show)
Carnivale (needs a final season)
Arrested Development (was hilarious to the last episode and still felt fresh to me)
Deadwood (still needs to be wrapped up, who knows if we'll actually get those movies)
Dead Like Me

Wasn't Mulholland Dr. supposed to be a mini-series and a tv show? Would of been a hell of a tv show.

Firefly is the obvious answer for a lot of people. I'm going to add in Wonderfalls as well because it's an excellent show put together by Tim Minnear, who was an Exec Producer for Firefly.

Karen Sisco had way too short of a lifespan for the awesomeness it exuded.

I can't think of too much more. Some shows were good but I can't see how they could last more than maybe one extra season.

Oh, and Angel. Season 5 was, hands down, the best of them all. The setting of Wolfram & Hart, the addition of Spike, having the one girl's soul taken over by an immortal demon... just awesome. One has to wonder where the show would have gone if they had been picked up for a 6th.

Angel Season 5 definitely kicked ass, while I wish the final episode was at least a 120 or at least a 90 minute show, they managed to pull out one of the damn best endings for that genre in only an hour.

Isn't "Season Six" coming out in a 12 part comic book series though?

Firefly of course.

Also Tru Calling. really like that show, and it was just developing some more depth when it was inexplicably canceled.

Also, could have done with more seasons of Veronica Mars.

Could we just rename the thread to "Joss Whedon Shows That Deserved Another Season"?

Firefly should be on the tip of every nerd's tongue, and if you are reading this message board you are a nerd.

I have been watching (Tivo'd) Angel reruns on TBS and it has been great too. I am kind of glad I started at the end of Season 4 because it has wrapped around now. Early Season 1 is rough without the staple characters he ends up with.

I like seeing the people who eventually end up in Firefly appear on episodes of Angel (Zoey, Jane). My wife tells me that Mal appeared on an episode of Buffy, which I never got into.

Arrested Development. Like Ham said, it was funny right to the end of the show. Everything about it was just so perfect, I cry when I think that I'll never see new ones.

Undeclared was pretty cool.

And then durr Firefly.

Wow, someone else who actually watched and liked Radio Free Roscoe? Nice.

I would have liked another season or more of Daria, personally. More recently, I was really enjoying Raines before NBC axed it.

And of course Firefly. That opening theme is just pure own. You can't take the sky from me, indeed.

Firefly and Farscape are the most obvious ones. (unless I somehow missed new Farscape episodes once I joined the military...)
