Shows the never get old

Inspired by some nostalgic talk in the "Show that get old thread" shows that are classic.

Talespin:

Chip'n Dale Rescue Rangers:

Darkwing Duck:

Ducktales:

It amazes me looking back at these shows how far downhill the dribble they show on Disney channel is, and how in general the quality of animation on shows these days is absolutely horrid.

edit: argh how do i edit the title.

The Snorks+Smurfs They're not really anything special, but they're amazing compared to the crap known as childrens cartoons today.

The Critic

Mighty Max

I rewatched a bit of Mighty Max the other day and atleast it aged better than similar corny crap like Saved by the Bell.

Salute Your Shorts

Pete & Pete

Boy Meets World

Completely agree with those first four picks. The animation is still top notch and I can't help but watch an episode of any one of those if I happen to see they're on while browsing through the guide.

Ummm, this thread should be renamed: "Badass cartoons you watched in the 90s that are still funny because you remember them being funny."

But seriously, Rocco's Modern Life ftw.

I don't know about cartoons for little kids but if the subject is 'shows that never get old' here is my pick:

The other night I made the mistake of turning on the TV right before going to bed and there was a classic Xfiles episode on TV. Now if it is an Xfiles episode with Mulder and The Cig Smoking Man and aliens, I can not turn off the TV. I am instantlly hooked. This episode I had seen many times too but it is so good I can't turn it off...I must watch. It was the episode with $29.95 alien autopsy tape, the train car with the alien inside, and the bomb on the train. The episode was even to be continued and even though I had to get up early for work I stayed up and watched the to be continued episode which was on next. This wasn't the only time this had happened either, one time I turned the TV on and it was the 3 parter with the tape that held all the Alien secrets on it but it was written in Navaho. That night I got 2 hours of sleep.

I just think that the alien episodes of first few (First 6 seasons I think) seasons of the Xfiles were some of the best television shows on TV for a long time. I am talking before Mulder left the show, when that happened the show turned to complete dogshit.

Also this show had some of the best characters ever to be on television: Mr X, Fox Mulder, The Alien Bounty Hunter, Alex Krychek, The Lone Gunman, and The Cigarette Smoking Man who is prob a top 5 character in all time television history. The Cig Smoking guy was so badass, he was always in the dark hiding and then you see a cig light up. He was the one pulling all the strings it was fantastic.

This show had it all going for it and the alien episodes were so good it just sucked you in and you wanted more and more. Sad how they destroyed the show but those first few seasons had some of the most amazing TV shows I have ever seen and when I still see them today I get hooked in an instant.
