Haven't watched ep1 (A Clean Escape) yet but Watchbird and Little Brother look really good.

Stage6 · Masters of Science Fiction S1E1 - Video and Download · Cambridge420 (watch online youtube-style, or just DL and save as .AVI to watch in normal players)
EZTV - TV Torrents Online (torrent)

Or if you've got usenet access, here's a NZB that will let you download the best version (960x540 xvid, AC3 5.1 audio):

I watched the first episode and it wasn't bad, but I would have called it more of a Drama. it was very light on any sci fi other then the general background, which was a little disappointing.

The first episode wasn't what I expected but I still enjoyed it. Hopefully the next one will have a little more action/sci-fi themes in it. At least Locke is in this one!

I'd read the short story before hand and I wouldn't say I was disappointed. It was a pretty accurate account of a decent science fiction short story. I didn't need all the extra backstory, but whatever they needed to stretch a 15 minute plot into a 1 hour thing. It was ok, just ok. The acting was a little on the weak side I would say.

It's not sci-fi, it's Science Fiction. Sci-fi is pewpew, Science Fiction is an analysis of human society when you introduce new aspects, usually technological, that aren't attainable at the time of the writing. That's why a lot of old science fiction now just seems like bizzare fiction now, because much of it exists in a society of a lower tech level than we have now. It's also the reason why science fiction has become accepted in academic circles - it's tends to be preemptive consideration of social problems.

This seems to be genuine science fiction.

I'm aware of what sci fiction is and this didn't seem to really introduce anything substantial. It comes close a couple of times, but they seem to be things that don't drive the story at all and could easily be replaced by contemporary settings.

Not missing much if you miss this show. First one was really eh. The 2nd episode was on tonight. Seemed like a really really super bad episode of StarGate.

I didn't like the second episode at all. John Locke was the only good char and the story was pretty lame. The Cigeratte Smoking man was in it too but he played a pussy president. I seriously could have made a way better 1 hour movie with that cast. It was very disappointing.

I enjoyed them both. So far it's done a very good job of feeling like a dramatization of a short story, and brings them up to a modern context quite well.

While I'm not sure "Jerry Was a Man" was the best choice from RAH, I'm really looking forward to next week. Now if only they turned Time Enough for Love into an epic length movie, I'd die a happy man.

2nd episode definitely felt more like sci fi.

Both were good jobs at converting short stories to movies, and I think short stories make for better movie conversions anyway, just look at brokeback mountain or Shawshank Redemption.

I liked the 3rd one, though it was pretty cliche. Bring up the same questions as pretty much every sci fi show has done at some point.

4th was probably my favourite of the stories so far, both for the story and how it was produced.

Are the shows independent or do you have to watch them in order?
