Damages

I think this is a mini series, since I can't imagine it working much beyond 1 season, but it not too bad. Has a great cast, and pretty interesting storyline.

I really enjoyed the first episode, it was smarter than most shows out there problem was...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
once they showed me it wasn't going to just some huge coencidence I was supposed to believe (her being connected to this key witness), I knew something else was up. The show just sat there and showed me it wasn't going to have a dumb main character (good) and so I gave it some credit. But then when the guy at the horse stable told her that Patty didn't even know about her I felt well isn't that convenient. He's fired that day and he backs up the story. I saw the last twist coming unfortunately because I was expecting one at that point ;/

Plan on watching the rest of the season/series now though.

The girlfriend and I rather liked it. I'm not sure if it's a mini series or something like 24 where this one season describes one set of events or whatever.

Either way, Glenn Close plays vicious bitch rather well.

Side note: Is it only me that for some reason gets Glenn Close and Meryl Streep mixed up on occasion?

No, they are both old, ugly, and good actors. Easy to confuse.

I am a big fan of the shows on FX, so I am kinda upset that I missed this one.

It does seem like it's just a one season (13 episodes) show. Sometimes I wish more shows were like that so we wouldn't have so many good ones that are cancelled with no resolution of on-going plot lines, let alone a real ending.

episode 3 had some progress. I sort of like the format but I also don't a lot of times because I'm really curious where it's going post-fiancee death. Since it's only 13 and nothing else is on I'll finish it for sure I guess, because I don't know if it was any longer how interested I could be in a flashback related show.

I think the flashback format was a mistake too, it's getting kind of annoying because the '5 months ago' stuff is so dull. I think they've gotten the dual points of Patty is a bitch and Ellen is a doormat across fine, and it's about time the actual plot started moving along.

I've been fine with it so far. Every flash forward and back seems to up my curiosity as more and more information comes available both in the future sequences and the past sequences. This has been a fantastic show so far, imo.

The fiance continues to enjoy this show. I, on the other hand, keep wishing it would pick up the pace and just tell us what happened already. Maybe I'm just impatient, but this show is really starting to drag for me.

Is anyone else still keeping up with this show? It took me awhile to get caught up, but so far I'm enjoying the way it's being developed. It does move pretty slowly though.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The plot element I'm most unsure about is Lyla. With everything else going on, that she would just come out of nowhere and that she's as psychotic of a bitch is pretty unbelievable for me. I do like how they worked it in with the flashback format and at first you do think they were actually cheating. Also, does anyone have theories on what the hell is up with Patti in the present (all the breaking down/driving out of NY)?

Honestly, I'm fairly bored with it. Too many dun dun dunnnnn! moments for my tastes. I continue to watch it because the fiance enjoys it and I just wanna know wth happened. I'm probably just being impatient but I think they're dragging this out way too much.

I'd agree, at first it was interesting to me because of the way Patti's so manipulative that it forces everyone to be on the same level and just the amount of twists they have going on. It seems less and less likely that they'll be able to tie it together well though.

Season finale was tonight and didn't see the post bumped . . .

Anyone follow it through? Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the entire run and will be purchasing the DVDs when they come out. There was a week on / week off sort of feel with it, but the "on" weeks more than made up to me. The last few episodes especially really piqued my senses and got me waiting for the finale.

I won't spoil anything, but I will say that throughout the whole season I was fully prepared for a one season awesome show, however, after the last episode I'd really like to see a second 13 episode season.
