| CNN Youtube Debates CNN youtube debates.. anyone else watching? Some nice questions being asked... For Example. Do you believe that African Americans deserve to have reperations? What would you do to achieve that? Will you allow us to marry? (Lesbians asking the question?) Does race or Gender matter? (specifially aimed at clinton and obama) etc etc. Some nice questions... I would go into more detail but it's actually a debate worth watching.. I'll comment more later..

+29 Internets | I'm watching the replay on CNN.com - that Gov. Richardson is a tool. Half the time what he says isn't a coherent sentence and doesn't make sense. "Sending the UN takes too long - it'll take 6 months... we need to use diplomacy" Also, I think Kusinic is the only person who did not applaud when they acknowledged the sacrifice of those soldiers who died - the guy really tries to lose. On the format: they have to get rid of video submissions and use text only - half the shit the people say is incomprehensible and could be summed up in two sentences. |

Simply giving cash to descendants of slaves would be silly of course. I hate how they narrow responses to a yes/no answer.

| I actually enjoyed tonight style of debate. As long as the questions selected still are somewhat different then what a normal moderator would choose, this style has merit. For example, to promote energy independence why have we not built more nuclear plants? Interesting question that actually got some straight answers. |

| You know what? Ya a lot of what was asked, in fact, nearly all of what was asked has been asked before. But this is the first time I 'FELT' like watching. Most of the time its all flugg and a bunch of old people giving dumb ass stump speeches and avoiding any questions we want to hear answers to and yes I know they did a whole hell of a lot of dodging tonight to I defintely felt like they were agitated by some of the directness of the questions. Lesbians asked "Can we get married?" Obama says" Marriage? No. civil unions, Yes. Civil Unions which have the full rights (i.e. to do their taxes and health care etc.) that marriage does but he said that each denomination should be able to decide what to allow two peolpe to do. Not the government. While I personally don't give a damn who marries what I think that was a fan-fuckingtastic answer. I have seen civil unions as a response many times but thats the first time I heard it put like that "Let each denomination decided for themselves." Which I think is absoultey fucking great. Get government out of this one. Sure mabye he answered that before but I never heard it and I was entertanied and enjoyed the questions and answers tonight. I think that is what is going to get more young voters out and we DO NEEED to get more young voters out. Yes th questions were stil screened but the show host guy did an excellent job of pulling canadites back onto the question and forcing them to either answer it outright or not answer it at all. (And he called a few of them out for it) Obvisouly they aren't going to answer every question outright but still I felt it was very good. The question about reperations I felt was idiotic (I am black). I didn't think there is any reasonable way to even give out reperations these days it's just stupid to even think about it. But the canadites almost ALL gave FANTASITC ANSWERS! I did NOT expect what they said and mabye I'm not a super goddamn fucking genius like everyone here but I thought they were caught blindsided and still showed up. I think its a GREAT idea to give some reperatinos in the form of more money to ALL people that need help in school, and health care, etc etc etc. I think they could draft a bill and even call it reperations bill or something and put it into effect. While its obviously just another "help the poor" bill it would still be a very very nice thing to have for lower class america. For those of you who didnt watch it and have comments go watch it. It is worth it and it was good. It is not your standard debate imho. And for those of you who watched it and felt it was the same shit over and over.... Well I don't know what to say but i have feel asleep and been bored to tears by enough stump speech debates that appeal to rich america but not young or lower class america.. I want more questions.. I also love the peachers question. Preacher "In the past religion has been used to justify racism and now none of you support that so do you support using religion to support discrimination against gays and lesbians?" Or something like that... I PARAPHRASED A LOT so don't quote me.. If you want to hear their resopnses or more questions GO WATCH IT.

Nah, debates have never been about issues of the wealthy, and that's ok: they have it pretty good.

+6 Internets | You can't get the government out of marriage, marriage is a government enforced contract and has nothing to do with religion, Obama's answer was a copout. Civil unions = separate but equal, and we've already established that it's never equal. |
