+5 Internets | This is Gordon Ramsay's glorified way to have for choosing his new EC and getting payed while doing it. No matter what he's gonna choose his own chef and hearing whom gets nominated just gives him an idea about how people are thinking, which is probably important to him. The most important thing to him today is probably how someone handles being up there leading the crew, since that is what they will be doing mostly at their potential new job. Corey flat out performed the worst and Christina performed the best in that regard. Petrozza did acceptably while cooking and while he had a mishap leading he was much better at voicing what was needed. Oh and fuck spoilers for shit that aired the night before. |

| As mentioned the most important thing Ramsey was looking for last night was the leadership. He's hiring someone to help run one of his places, not be in the line all the time. While yes they need to know wtf they're doing at every station, they need to be the boss and not the other way around. At first I thought Petro and Corey might be at a disadvantage with the sabotages, by the time it gets around to Christina she should know something would be up. But Corey still did not show she has what it takes to run a staff, even one that might be bigger than hell's kitchen. She was nervous and maybe she'll over come that but she blew her shot. Next week will again be testing leadership in running their own kitchen. I think Petro will win, he can run the kitchen and he doesn't screw up as much as Christina up to this point. |

+4 Internets | Am I hallucinating, or didn't the teaser scenes last week (for this week) show them saying that Christina had lied and couldn't be trusted? Where did any of that show up in this episode? I see where them both saying that Christina should go came from, but I swear they interspersed some insinuations that Christina had lied, or cheated, or something. Or am I just taking crazy pills? And I was fine with Corey getting booted off, even though she's straightened out a lot, she was still a bitchy whore for the first half. At least Christina has been the same throughout. I'd like to see Petrozza win though, simply because he's consistent, and seems like a genuinely nice guy. |

So, either a not-showed story line or it may be part of the finale(kind of a long shot on the finale, though)?

| i didn't see teasers (downloaded episodes) but she cried when her parents came, probably from that. just saw the episode, ramsey made a comment that deciding between kristina and corey is tough and he is deciding based upon their time in hells kitchen, which suggests he decided also based on the entire show, not just that episode. frankly I wouldn't want any one of the 3 working for me as head chef, the two girls don't have enough experience/age and petrozza is kind of soft and mistake-prone. from next weeks teaser he did say something like "i'm not sure you 2 finalists are right for me", I wonder if he's going to open up a final slot to one of the 6 previous people coming back. imagine jen or that fat guy with the "i'm always shitting" face winning, lulz |

Executive Chef - Top Dawg - makes the majority of the decisions regarding menu, style, budgets etc etc. Leader in the kitchen, when in the kitchen. The captain of a fleet of pirate ships. Ramsey would be the executive chef, but on the show he is representing the executive chef that runs 1 kitchen. Doing expediting work. Chef de Cuisine - You don't see this one as much. This person performs all the duties of the executive chef, when the chef is not around. You see this alot in fine dining, if the executive chef has multiple restaurants/locations, and/or travels alot. You can also see it in larger operations, hotels and such. Captain of the boat. Sous Chef - Responsible for day to day operations in the kitchen. Will usually do inventory and ordering and the like. Function as the expeditor, and interact with the line cooks. The sous chefs main job function can be described as "making sure the job gets done, no excuses". They would be the first mate of a ship Expediter - In my kitchen its the sous chef (me), they are the one interacting between the front of the house and the line cooks. Usually through a Point of Sale system. Server keys in an order, the expediter calls it out, and organizes all the dishes making sure they goto the correct seats at the correct tables. This station will involve plating, garnishing, saucing, etc. Lead Cook - The most bad ass guy on the line. Fastest, quickest, most accurate line cook in the joint. The sous chefs sous chef. Usually will be in charge of the most important station, at a steak house that could be the broiler/grill, at an Italian place I have to assume pasta. Line Cook - the guys doing the actual cooking. The contestants on Hell's Kitchen are performing the roll of line cook. Order is called out, they cook it. They plate it up (some places have the food put up, then the expo plates it, others do a mix). Then they go back to cooking the next item. There key role is making sure the food is correct and up in a timely fashion, with the other dishes. Dishwasher - Usually does prep work prior to service, and does dishes during. Prep Cook - the guys doing prep. They may or may not be line cooks. Some restaurants actually run a separate prep crew of cheaper payed people, then the higher paid line cooks walk in an hour before service, and do a final check of their station. I've seen all different kinds of setups for this. Old school french kitchens break their stations down by individual item. Fish, sauce, cold, meat etc. American kitchens usually break it down by cooking method/device.
