| (PVR)Direct Tv & TV Turner I would like some advice on setting up my own PVR (Personal Video Recording system) instead of using the DTV one or the TiVO ones. I have a standard dtv reciever box and would like to be able to record and watch one show at a time and I'm not sure how to set that up. From eveything I have seen its not really possible to recored any of DTV;s HDTV period or else I would. So if anyone has set anything like this up I would like to know how you did it. also are RGB cables better then s video?

+8 Internets | I can't help with anything else, but I am pretty sure s video is better than RGB. |

+36 Internets | If you're referring to component cables (Y, Pb, Pr) which is a red, green, and blue cable just for video (5 cables total including audio, typically) then they are MUCH better than s-video both in image quality and resolution. And if you want advice on setting up your own PVR using a computer, here it is: Don't.
