| $1500 LCD/PLASMA HDTV Need your advice! Hello All, I am about to close on my new house and as a house warming present to myself I am buying a LCD or Plasma TV to mount on the wall and I have narrowed it down to two TV's that I really like. I have seen both in action in the store and they both look really good but I still need some help deciding if anyone knows there stuff. (Disclaimer: I have looked at DLP TV’s and while I can get a lot more for my money I just did not like the way they looked. It is more personal preference then anything but I never felt the vibrant color or view angles that I like given my living room setup.) I have budgeted $1500 to spend. I know with only $500 more I could get a nice high end Sony or something but I am really trying to stay at around $1500 for this TV. My first selection is the Vizio 47”1080p Gallevia Link: Sam's Club - 47" Vizio Gallevia LCD HDTV 1080p With its price before taxes at $1582 it is definitely at the top of my price range. But given that its 1080p I figured it might be well worth it. In the store it looks absolutely gorgeous. My second Selection is the Vizio 50” 1080i. Its price is $1400 so with taxes it’ll be right around $1500 and it is 50”. Link: Sam's Club - 50" Vizio Plasma HDTV Both of these are Vizio and they seem to have decent reviews. Some people have issues with a buzzing sound but Vizio has almost always sent someone out to fix or replace to part within a few days and it was more prevalent I the earlier versions. (From what I read of the reviews.) I don’t know if anyone has any experience with this brand or knows of any good HDTV’s at a good price I am looking for. I am leery of online stores for shopping of this type of thing but if you know something let me know your advice! 47" Vizio is first image and 50" Vizio is second image.

| That plasma is only a 1366x768 max resolution so thats something to consider... plasmas in general have better picture quality would depend on how close you are gonna be to the TV, farther than 8 feet or so I would go with the plasma. |
