| Blood Ties Despite this being a show on Lifetime, I think it's pretty good overall. The series is based on books by Tanya Huff about a cop who has to quit because of her failing eyesight, becomes a PI, meets a vampire and ends up investigating supernatural cases that the cops don't understand, etc. Yea, it might not sound terribly original but the books are old enough to even pre-date the old 90's show Forever Knight (and if you watched FK, and don't mind Canadian TV production values, then you will definitely like this show too). Anyway, definitely recommended to fans of the genre who are bored on Sunday nights. It started up a few weeks before Dresden Files wrapped for the season, and imo it's turned out to be a much better show than Dresden so far. 10 episodes in now, with 12 more to go according to TV.com. Anyone else been watching it? |

+13 Internets | finally got around to watching the eps I've had on my comp for ages, and am enjoying it. Probably not as much as Supernatural, but not far off. Was initially turned off by the blind thing since it seems like a cheesy plot device that would work in a book but not so much in a tv show. So far it hasn't been dwelled upon too much so hasn't been a problem. Sucks that it got canceled but hopefully the 2 season will be entertaining. |
